Full write up..... No. Did take some pics that would help someone along their way if they were interested. They are in my build thread though. Check my sig for the link.

You have to be very comfortable with busting open a brand new card and de-soldering things form the circuits in there. People do it on a lot of different vehicle. My Tundra had a full blue interior. I am not a fan of orange at all. Just cant stare at it all the time. Need to mix things up......

It's kind of one of those mods you dont do a detailed write up on. If they have to ask certain questions they should bring it to a pro to get it done instead of DIY.

Looks awesome Ray. The 20's are deceptive and don't exaggerate the drop.

I knew I had an oil leak or more like a seep coming from what I thought was the oil pan gasket. There is a TSB that states it leaks and not to re-install a gasket but instead use an epoxy to seal the oil pan. The seepage wasn't bad so I waited for my oil service to have it replace.

I was surprised that it wasn't actually the gasket, and my SA did say this is a problem with some Countryman's. Just a FYI you might want to look under your rides and check for oil, here's what the did to mine in addition to the normal scheduled maintenance.

Yes I got a really good deal on them and also wanted to be a rebel of sorts and do a setup that no one has done yet.....viola thats how I ended up with this but like I said I love the ride and highly recomend the Meagan coils I guess the 20"s would be a matter of choice/style but in the end I have no issues with rubbing or poor ride quality so it was a WIN for me thanx!

Part #'s 51139808593/594 & they ran about $75ea. They were complete scuttle assemblies in the black housings. Supposedly the inserts aren't sold separately, so I had to swap out the inserts (I'm not one of the "death to chrome" crowd, I overdosed on "black out" a couple of vehicles ago) Pretty easy maybe 15mins to do both sides. They look pretty good in black housings too...

Ditto on the ex-murdered-out vehicle club. I had a Black GTI which all the emblems, trim and wheels were black for a while. Loved it but got tired of it. On my Crystal Silver I am embracing the chrome and not going for the monochrome look.

That said, these arrived from ECS Tuning today.

Looks great!

I think you could seal the look by blacking out the chrome around the grill.

I"m going the same route when mine comes... my first two MINIs were PW so the more I blacked out the more contrast I got that I didn't necessarily want. But on an AB or similar darker paint, I really love the look. On my old R53 I did the ruby red tails thanks to Kyle, and I'll probably do that on this one too. Plasti-dip is something I never did previously but look forward to trying ont he CM...

I did just that yesterday to mine. Will take and post pics later. It looks so much meaner w/o the chrome around the grill.
