Weathertech Side Window Deflectors

Hello Countrymen & Countrywomen

Weathertech has a product request form on their website....

http://www.weathertech.com/service/p...-request-form/

i have put in a request for side window deflectors for the countryman, mentioning that i have had them on my last 5 vehicles along with their floormats. (floormats are available NOW)

please do the same and maybe they will make them.....
remember the squeeky wheel theory

scott

If I had a Countryman I would definitely put in a request. I've had Weathertechs on other vehicles - they are a terrific product. Wish the Clubman and MCS had door frames. It's great to be able to leave your windows cracked open and not worry about rain intrusion.

lets you motor with the windows open a little without water coming in

also (at least with my previous vehicles) it is quieter

Will have to see a CM with them on before I bite....never had the best of luck with In-Channel ones, typically like the ones that adhere above the window...but can always be swayed haha

A friend told me once that they're so smokers can still crack a window when it's raining and smoke while they drive.

if i drive with a front window cracked open in the rain, i get a steady stream of water coming in, same if i use the washers

i hope the deflectors will stop that

they did on my gmc sonoma that had the same aerodynamic problem with rain and a cracked open window

the other nice thing is leaving the windows cracked while parked in the sun, with the dark tint, the windows don't even appear to be open and rain will not enter

i have seen them on a countryman in the japanese mini countryman catalog, but i do not remember seeing the name brand. japanese have all kinda options for the countryman we dont get. i used to work at a truck accessory store and you would not believe all the issues people have with them. some of the issues were; they fade, crack, come loose and fly off going down the road, and believe it or not some people would steal one of them. since you cannot buy one, you have to buy the whole set if one needs replaced. there were 2 models, stick on and in the channel models. in the channel models work/look better, but if they move out of place and you roll the window up they crack. buy at your own risk, you've been warned

i ordered a set from weathertech for my 1997 gms sonoma when i ordered the truck, installed them 12/31/1996, the day i took delivery, and still have them on the truck, 288,000 miles and almost 17 years later

i ordered them because of the water entering the window on the 1996 sonoma that i had for 15 months before i ordered the 1997 model

Ordered on Sunday (10.22.12), received and installed just now.... Installation took 10min and looks great! After installing when I raised the window, it did hit the side of the shield and the window came back down so, I pulled out the shield a little and the window closed properly. After settleing about 15min, went outside and open and close the window and it worked like a charm. The instruction did say roll the window up for about 12hrs.

One thing I did notice is that the bottom of the shield where the shield meets the rubber molding does show a little cut but, very little...

Love it.....

here you go, as you wish

note: My front window has 50% and rear has 30% tint. Because of the tint, the rear shield really blend in nicely.....
