Underbody Damage Photos. Is it okay?

Climbing up some ramp, i actually got the underbody scraped. It was quite a loud bangg to be honest

Don't know if it's going to create some issues to the fuel system or aerodynamic problems?

Haven't measured the deepness of the cut just yet...

From what I can see, the part you hit is the "shield" for the saddle-shaped gas tank. Nothing else nearby seems altered; e.g., the gas lines. I was told by a MINI mechanic that those shields are likely to get damaged on the CM and not to worry about it. The concern would be if the tank inside were also damaged, and you may decide to have the shield removed so you can inspect the tank.

A view of my CM4 underside:

Looks like the shield did just what it was supposed to. You shouldn't have any problems from this at all. Ghamma, you are all set for some serious off-roading with that skid plate installed.

Doesn't look good to me. Need to hit that ramp at an angle instead of head-on.

Yes, and it is fun to get things dirty...just don't find anything to hit those delicate multi-link rear suspension components, etc. If only they'd put struts in the back, as well...like in the WRC.

I'd clean off the dirt in that area real well and then reapply some undercoating to cover the scrapes then not worry about it.

Thanks for all the replies.

What if? Lets say... the worst case, if the cut got to the fuel tank, the tank would crush? or even rip and lead to a fuel leak?

If the tank's crushed a bit, it would be fine right? probably no fuel feed problems? All i know is mine's not cut, since there's no fuel leaking whatsoever. hehe

thanks again
