Thanks for sharing Gray Raven. From a marketing standpoint it is interesting to gain some insight to their thinking. They are clearly giving talking points to the dealers, as well as trying to sell the dealers on the whole idea at the same time. I like the term they use, "manualhood" to push a manual transmission option only, and oh, by the way, there aren't enough automatics available anyways. But, having one per dealer these cars will easily sell, overpriced or not. You can also read that with a high profit margin dealers will have some room to move on the price to get rid of them if they do not sell as well as expected.

That would imply that their goal was to produce a package that had a purpose of improving the looks of the car, not in getting rid of extra parts they have laying around because they cannot produce the JCW.

I don't think the kit improves the car at all, I'm pretty sure it probably makes the car slightly slower, and use more fuel, it's additional weight, nothing more.
I think the JCW works models is going to be a beast, it will need at least 250hp o be competitive, 275-300 to be class leading, which won't happen with the current 1.6, I bet it's going to have the N20 turbo 2.0 from the lastest 5 series.

At the speeds we drive at, any lower speed with the kit would be unnoticeable. The stock countryman is no track car, so unless you're modifying it, the body kit changes only the looks. I've driven both and noticed no difference. Have you?
I'll stick with my prediction: The JCW will have no more than a 220hp engine, probably 1.8 liters.

Let's agree to disagree. To me, the kit makes the car have far more road presence, and look much less top-heavy, especially with 18" rims.
