Wow,

$3500 for a bunch of cosmetic trim, with no performance increase? The brochure says it is a "high Dealer Profit" item, and I can see why. It may look good, but the price is way out of line.

So if you have cold winters, you can't also enjoy music?! Another (unsuccessful) MC40 perhaps?

Thanks for sharing Gray Raven. From a marketing standpoint it is interesting to gain some insight to their thinking. They are clearly giving talking points to the dealers, as well as trying to sell the dealers on the whole idea at the same time. I like the term they use, "manualhood" to push a manual transmission option only, and oh, by the way, there aren't enough automatics available anyways. But, having one per dealer these cars will easily sell, overpriced or not. You can also read that with a high profit margin dealers will have some room to move on the price to get rid of them if they do not sell as well as expected.

You think they would be delivering it on 18's not the 17's which look daft with the JCW bodykit.

That would imply that their goal was to produce a package that had a purpose of improving the looks of the car, not in getting rid of extra parts they have laying around because they cannot produce the JCW.

I see it differently the current JCW kits looks cheap and nasty, it's just plastic bolt on extensions to the existing bumpers and nasty looking side skirts, it does not look good, worse if you run on 17's.

I bet the JCW when it arrives will have a different look.

I would think they have to now. Who would want a JCW that looked exactly like a previous special edition MINI? Not so special anymore then.

Looks great. I love the body kit--totally improves the look of the vehicle to these eyes. Yes, the car could use another 40hp (or 140hp for that matter), but that brings the price even higher and worsens the mileage.

I'm sure the JCW will be excellent, but this kit improves the car.

I don't think the kit improves the car at all, I'm pretty sure it probably makes the car slightly slower, and use more fuel, it's additional weight, nothing more.

I think the JCW works models is going to be a beast, it will need at least 250hp o be competitive, 275-300 to be class leading, which won't happen with the current 1.6, I bet it's going to have the N20 turbo 2.0 from the lastest 5 series.

Let's agree to disagree. To me, the kit makes the car have far more road presence, and look much less top-heavy, especially with 18" rims.

At the speeds we drive at, any lower speed with the kit would be unnoticeable. The stock countryman is no track car, so unless you're modifying it, the body kit changes only the looks. I've driven both and noticed no difference. Have you?

I'll stick with my prediction: The JCW will have no more than a 220hp engine, probably 1.8 liters.

It won't be a 1.8, BMW don't have a 1.8, neither do PSA. I doubt they will build an engine specifically for the JCW CM, it will be something from the existing range, the N20 is perfect, it will also be used on the FWD 1 Series.

I totally agree, the side skirts in particular make a huge difference. The front splitter and rear diffuser aren't required in my opinion -- but the side skirts are!

Mini is copying Saturn now? I drive a different brand of "Red Line". lol. Fortunantly, my Red Line edition has way more than just cosmetic pieces.

I definitely think it enhances the looks and agree with the 18's, it would be nice to have those with this kit.
