For those ordering MINI Connected or MINI Connected with NAV

A very well informed forum member informed me of an important options change today.

The last Order Guide (dated Oct 12 2010) noted a restriction on the ZCV Convenience Package which prevented you from ordering the package if your order also included MINI Connected or MINI Connected with NAV. This was due to the fact that the Comfort Bluetooth feature was included with both.

At that time, my order was still in the Order Bank in status 047 and was incomplete as my dealer was unable to add MINI Connected with Nav to my order apparently due to it also including the ZCV Convenience Package.

As a result, I changed my order by deleting the ZCV Convenience Package and adding in the applicable items a la carte.

A new bulletin has been posted announcing a new options package - ZC2 Convenience Package 2. This package is for orders that include MINI Connected or MINI Connected with NAV and includes options 319, 322, 431 and 521 for a price of $750.

My MA changed my order this morning by adding ZC2 which also automatically took out the redundant options.

The MSRP dropped by $500 on my order as a result!

Many thanks to the forum member who notified me. I won't name names unless they say it is ok.

Is this the reason your baby hadn't gone into production yet?

drew@southbaymini 10-30-2010 03:21 PM

that is not why it hasnt gone into production yet. Midnights MINI hasnt gone into produciton because the Nav and MINI Connected are not available yet. Those options will be aviable come Decemeber production.

My dealer says my car is scheduled for production week 45 which is Nov 8. I believe all other Cooper models must wait until December but Countryman production with Mini Connected starts in November.

Nope. My order had been accepted and was waiting for it's build slot. This new package simply reduces my MSRP by $500

Midnight Blue -
I could go look at a calendar and figure out when Week 46 is, but I'm sure you know and I'm lazy . . .
when is week 46?

Week 46 starts Nov 15.

Have you gotten any updates?

Nothing new. Dealer says order status is unchanged. Wife and I are going on vacation tomorrow and will be out of pocket until mid-November so that will surely help keep mind off this process.

TruMini 11-04-2010 07:32 PM

Good for you!
Enjoy.

I think you saved me $500!

This is great info. Just forwarded it to my MA and even though I ordered all the options ala carte, they are going to push for getting the $500 credit applied. $39,500 sounds way better than the round $40k I was at before. Thanks a lot for the info!

Glad the info was helpful. My standard cut is 20% but Countryman owners are exempt :)

Midnight Blue,

Too bad for me. I ordered ala carte since 12/13/10 and got my baby 2/13. My MA told me that this option was just available recently.

Do you happen to have a copy of the bulletin that announced ZC2 option ?

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure it's been available for months. Maybe they just found out about it recently though. I had to educate my MA about it and that was the first week of January.

Lucky you. I should have every topics before ordering.

I would need a proof to show my MA. It seems like he did not tell me the truth.

It has been available for months. My car was built end of November and I was able to make the change to ZC2 before the car was even built. Your MA is wrong and is trying to get away with something. Simply tell them to punch ZC2 into their dealer ordering system. It will show Convenienve Package 2. It is even referenced on the MINI web site's online configurator. I do not have the bulletin. The dealer owes you $500.

TunaBall,

Were they able to give your $500 credit ? My MA can only do $100 credit for accessories. I wonder how you talk to you MA.

I ordered back in October before the ZC2 Convenience Package 2 was available but I ordered everything in the package. So they were able to bill me as if I ordered the package thus saving the $500. Actually, when I ordered they didn't have pricing for anything so I was ordering blind anyway. So it wasn't really a discount as much as aligning my order with the new information that came out a month later.

By coincidence, I was looking at this this weekend. If you go with the 2 package, you stilll need to add (if you want them) the outside auto dim mirrors. That brings the savings down to $250.

sompopw 02-28-2011 03:10 PM

@TunaBall, Thanks.
@Sealy, I forgot to order the auto dim outside mirrors :( .. hopefully tinted windows would help.
