Drivetrain Resonator and 2nd Cat Delete - CM4

6) For a simple tune without any mods (the exhaust mod is more for sound on the R60), I would suggest the NM tune. It's $500 out the door, and offers the most bang-for-the-buck on an otherwise stock R60S.
Feel free to ask any other questions, and I'll be happy to answer them.

ECU on N14 engine: Freely tunable via flash method
2011 to January 2012: Bench tune only; virtually all tuners capable
February 2012 to 2013: Bench tune only; ETG and RENNtech only capable tuners
2013 -- : On lockdown

Not exactly... I'll edit that a bit:

N18 2011 to 02/2012: Bench tune only; virtually all tuners capable
02/2012 to 09/2012: Bench tune only; ETG and RENNtech leading the pack
2013 -- : On lockdown - ETG and RENNtech only capable tuners -- RENN is the only tuner for the 2013 JCW/GP as of yet.

Ah, thanks Theta. I forgot that the 2012 JCWs still had N14 engines.
Two points:
1) Who else are tuning the 02/2012 to 09/2012 N18s other than ETG and RENNtech? NM can't, Evolve can't, and RMW seems very disinclined.
2) Your description of the tuning capabilities for the 2013 cars seems contradictory.

That's correct about the JCWs.
The N18 post-09/12 through current production are all the same. RENNtech is the only surefire tuner for all of these. They are able to tune the brand new JCWs like mine, along with the GP, R61, etc. I have heard ETG isn't having issues, but can't confirm.
The 02/12-09/12 issue seems like it's close to getting opened up by NM and the others, nothing firmed up yet. That was a revision change, but not a full-on ECU model change from what I've seen.
09/12 -> Current production has the new ECU. It's a beast.

I'm really tempted to grab a set of these red rims.

I am happy with the power I have now and the handling of the sports suspension. Any other modifications I should look at before rims?
I realize this isn't the wheel and tire thread but I thought it would be useful for a new r60 owner to have all this information in one place. Thanks!

I'm looking for the widest 17" wheels that don't rub.
Does anybody have a recommendation on width and offset? I want more tire to stick the corners.
What do you think about these?

To keep this thread on topic, I am going to take some sound clips of the 2nd cat and resonator delete with the k&n ru-1540 air filter.

Hey fellas my car is stock ctmS except the JCW exhaust. The exhaust is deeper but feel not much louder then stock. If I get the resonator and 2nd cat deleted it will prob make it louder but any idea if it will be way too loud? Unbearable ? Drone? This is my daily driver I drive it 35-37k a year with 80% 75-90mph ans 20% 40-60
Thanks

I had my JCW exhaust done at time of delivery and they took my resonator out for the JCW exhaust....I was going to cut mine out too, got under and saw it was gone....called the dealer and told me that's how JCW exhaust is meant to be...might double check to see if you truly have it or not...removing second cat won't give you any extra sound though
Removing this restriction nets a very large and noticeable increase in both flow and sound, especially with regard to pop & burble.
