Best short shifter and coil over
A great big hello again to everyone!
I would like to ask for some recommendations on a short shifter kit and coilover for my 2013 R58 Cooper S..
I feel the throw of the shifter now is quite long and deep and something shorter and more performance oriented would be great as I have track plans for the car. Some show a simple CNC stick whilst others show a multitude of parts. I was hoping for a good recommendation.
I plan to eventually take the car to track quite often so I would like a good trackworthy set of coil overs that hopefully is also comfortable enough to use on the roads. Some recommendations would be most most appreciated.

For my R56 MCS I ended up installing the Cravenspeed adjustable short shifter, shift well kit, and the S4S Billy Club shift ****. That's what I have on my F56 now too. Only difference is I have the billet aluminum shift **** now rather than the Delrin version. Excellent combination IMO. The shift well and **** can be added later, but I would recommend the short shifter and retaining clip be installed at the same time.

Ohlins are my vote, but you could get KW, ST, and H&R are some good brands.

For the short shifter I use the Cravenspeed in both my cars as it allows me to adjust it exactly how I like it not too short, but short enough to give a good feel.

Then for coilovers we actually have our own custom KWs that have our own setup that ride firm but not harsh daily, and provide awesome track performance with the linear springs that provide you with the best feedback and predictability.

But if you really do want to go to the track you're going to for sure need camber plates or you'll murder a set of tires.

While you have the rears out it is the ideal time to add a rear sway bar as it will be the biggest gain in handling.

Hi folks!
i have received my cravenspeed short shifter, the clips and the plastic gate cover. I also ordered the gear ****!
i haven’t installed it yet but I hope to in the next 2-3 weeks.
Am putting down the order for a KW V2 this end of the week too so I want to fit everything together when they all arrive! Thanks a lot for the suggestions!
price different between v2 and v3 for the kw was quite substantial. Seems V2 would be the best compromise.

The V2 is ideal as it will be everything you need. And with our custom setup it's matched to the car. You really only need V3 if you are building a track car and have the knowledge to adjust it for your needs.

Running the Cravenspeed adjustable and Ohlins here but you can't go wrong with V2's. Don't forget a slush fund for the RSB, Vorshlag camber plates and adjustable lower trailing arm links. Short of a full on race setup that will let you dial it in to a fair thee well. The R58 has a more forward weight bias than the R56 so start at the softest setting on the RSB. Then dial it in when you get some sticky shoes. Mostly though, have fun!
