Sway bar question

Trying to decide on a sway bar kit. I notice like tons of aftermarket parts for the Mini Cooper they all say R56 and not many say R58. Some give options for R58 but it’s rare and some say this sway bar fits all R55, R56, R57, R58. Some shed some light on what the difference is in the R58 sway Bars and which front bar you guys are running and any part numbers would be great. Thanks in advance.

Factory offer a slightly stiffer oem 24mm front bar for the r58, you most likely have a 23.5mm currently

all availible options should fit front and rear, what is the "best option" depends on intended use and if coilovers or upgrades to springs and dampers are also in the equation

The R56 and R58 both use the same sway bars. So any R56 bar will fit. With that said I'd go with the 25.5mm hollow comp bar which is the same as a 22mm solid without the weight. It is the ideal bar as it will give you the improvement you want and make the car neutral.

Most people don't do a front bar due to how much more labor it is. But not a bad idea if you are doing a trans or front control arm bushings and already have the front subframe out.
Your stock front sway bar will be 23.5 or 24mm depending on what option package the car had. But when ready upgrade to the 27mm and it will be even better.

That's what I was thinking but your website has a drop down to select R58 for the front swaybars and adds $22. And all the good swaybars are not listed under R58, you have to go to R56 and choose R58 in the drop down. Every other website shows the bars all fit both. This drop down on your website has triggered this question as I was getting my list together for clutch replacement things to do.

I'll double check but it should be the same price as the R56, just some companies like H&R, KW, and such will have a specific part number for each model so we will use that specific part number when we can even if it's the same as another model.

We have a whole page for R58 sway bars
