New to R58's, old to MINIS
Hi everybody!
Well, a major decision of mine was made last Friday when I woke up and said "I need a newer mini".
Let me start the story off by introducing myself if you don't know me. My name is Ben and I have/had a R56 Non-S in mellow yellow since I was 15 years old that I saved for. As the little bumblebee turned 10 this year, I had major issues going on with it. For example, cylinder 1 had a worn out valve guide that would cause a misfire above certain temps. Long story short, once the oil was warmed it was easy for it to get past the guide and onto the plug. So as I had the dealer quote it out to me, it was going to cost close to $3000. As I looked at the money and I saw the 134k on the odometer, I knew it was time to let my first car ever go. So what did I do? I decided to look for more hot hatches! The VW Golf R was a thought, but in all honesty I wouldn't have been able to make it work. Option #2 was having a MINI all over again. But not just any MINI, I was yearning for an "S". Actually no, I was yearning for a JCW. As I was on car gurus, I saw that one of my clients had a R58 JCW for sale, and it was a great price. I called him up and said I'll be in shortly. Nearly 7 hours later I was on my way home in this hot hatch. Let me know what you guys think!

Id love the GP diffuser someday. Instead of heading down the suspension route, I think some go fast parts would be the best. I haven't looked into the RMW tune, but I have looked at Manic and liked what I saw.

Do you have the N18 engine?

Update: It has the N14. Went out and read the sticker and it said 208hp. I know the N18 made around 211. Also it has the silencer before the intercooler. I'm so use to looking for engine stamping on the block

Hahahaha actually I am. I'll tell ya, when the problems with my R56 started happening I was so frustrated because I didn't want to pay someone else to do the work. I'm use to figuring stuff out on my own and learning. So during a rant one day I said "NO MORE MINIS!" Sacrelige, I know lol. I talked with my mom about it and she said, Ben you'll regret this. You'll want another mini. She knows this because she still wants her first car till this day. An Opel Kaddett. So I got online, looked around and saw this bad boy and couldn't turn it down. Honestly, I feel kinda bad about myself because I said I didn't want another mini. Well we live and learn

Congrats! Whole different car than you had, isn't it? And if I'm not mistaken all the Coupes have the N18 engine because they came out in 2012. Right? And BTW your first car was a LOT better than your mom's Opal Kadett. Man those things needed 8 reindeer and a jolly old elf lol.
