Buying a JCW Mini HELP!!!
Hi Everyone, I'm new to the forum and about to get my first Mini tomorrow morning and would like to know if it's worth buying or not. I have the details of the car below and please let me know if the car is worth the price and if there's anything i should be looking out for or check before buying it, thank you everyone for your help.
2011 JCW - Asking $10500 but negotiates down to $9,000 before looking at the car.
Conditions looks good from ADs
34000 miles
6 sp
The car looks great from the ads, if anything it looks like it could be from a dealer type of cars. The owner said he is the second owner and when he got the car it came with a salvage title from PA. He stated that the car was a flooded car but i forgot to ask if it was flooded in PA or elsewhere (my concerned is if it was in salt water or not). Other than this i still have to take a look at it tomorrow morning and decide. With this i would definitely need any help as to what to look for since this is my first Mini, anything would help and please do let me know if it's worth buying besides the Salvage title. Thanks again

Not mechanically inclined enough to tell you what to look for. But I drive auction cars part-time and getting a "salvage title car" to a regularly titled car can be an expensive and arduous task. I'm sure the process varies by state. In Missouri, you start by getting paperwork from the state police. After exhaustive tests are passed and all items corrected, you can obtain a "genuine title" for quite a few dollars. And a salvage titled vehicle cannot be licensed for street use.

Thank you, this car has been fixed and has been issued a R title. So the car is street legal and is registered to the current owner. Upon talking to the owner he said the car drives great and needs nothing, my concerns are should I be checking anything on the car while test driving it and does the price sound fair. Thanks

Hello, The R58 started in 2012 for the USA. So if it a 2011 JCW, it maybe an R56 model. I have an R58 JCW 2012 so I could help you.
If its a flood car the electrical are going to be messed up and if it gets to the foot well module it can mess up the whole system. make sure everything works inside and out. Most flood MINIs if in deep water are a big nightmare.
