"Put the top down!" Does it ever end?

Just a question about owning this car.

In the 4 weeks I've had it, I've only showed it to half a dozen people so far (been busy), and 5 out of 6 of them thought it was a convertible and asked me to put the top down.

Apparently it looks to them like the roof should fold down into the boot.

Does this ever stop?

Nope.

I get it all the time. With a white top , custom painted , its even more noticeable.

No it won't. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt.
(yes, there's actually a T-shirt)
http://rfiftyone.com/shirts/8-mini-c...off-shirt.html
I'm not affiliated with that site, but I do wear the shirt to meetups to ward off the question

Damn - nothing left but smalls.

I wonder if they'll make any more of them?

Nice! I'm saving that pic!

I like the "No it doesn't come off" decal but I just can't bring myself to put any sticker/decal on any of my cars. I even went so far as to buy an "Actual Size" decal back in '03 when they first made them, but then couldn't put it on the car.

Sure would like a t-shirt though!

Because of it's association with BMW and the similarity of the roof lines being some what like the Z4 I can understand people asking.

I had an Actual Size on my '03 MCS and I also have one on my '13 S Coupe.

We just bought ours Sat night, and that was our first question. Have had Targa Top cars and looking at the seams it looked like it was removable. I'm more of a Coupe guy and the wife a convertible lover (and she has one) so all good!

Congrats, on the seam it does make people think its a hardtop convertible or a targa.
