Now it looks like it poped up. Must have been delayed, thanks for the update and glad you got it figured out.

ECSTuning, I sent you guys an email today, but I'm having an issue. I purchased the kit from you and the issue I am having is different than everyone else and I'm wondering if you have any insight. I get the Halo as I should but no regular Fog lights when I turn them on. The indication by the switch says they are on, the light pops up on the speedo, but when I get out and look only the crescent light/position light is on. I get the following indications:

-Lights On: Crescent
-Parking Lights: Crescent
-Off: Halo
-Fogs: Crescent

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Hello,

For technical stuff just shoot me a PM as email can get backed up with all the emails we get. Sounds like you have not hooked up the fog part rigt, MINI made a mistake and flipped the PDF around. We attached an updated and corrected one to the product, here it is and double check your work. Most of the time its a wire flipped.

Ok, so the plot thickens. I checked the fog light wiring per the 'updated' wiring diagrams from the instructions and the left side (driver) looks correct. I then checked the right (passenger) side and this is what I found. The enclosed screenshot is from the updated wiring diagram:

We are looking at modules X769 (side marker-upper bulb connection) and X136 (fog light bulb connection). The color of the wires that are supposed to go to them are Yellow and Green respectively.

This is the yellow wire obviously. Notice how the pins are vertical

This is the green wire obviously. Notice how the pins are horizontal

This is unit X136 to the fog light bulb. Notice how the pin receiver is vertical

This is unit X769 to the side marker/upper bulb. Notice how the pin receiver is horizontal

So according to the "updated" wiring diagram I need to shove the round peg into the square hole and the square peg into the round hole? Any ideas?

Question

Unsure if any of you that got the Mini LED DRLs can guide me in finding the exact ones the OP posted. I have been searching everywhere online and cannot find these. I wanted to exhaust all options before going to the BMW dealership.

ECS Tuning shows the kit as being discontinued.

However, there is a kit on Ebay listed by ECS Tuning:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-MIN...MAAOSwDn5bRwS2

That’s the kit! I looked at ECS and they sell the computer module and the lights separately. Kinda weird but I’m glad you found it! Worth the price of entry!

EDIT: Realized this is R58 specific channel. Moved this question to more general 2nd gen Electrical Modifications: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ml#post4612671

I have had the LED daytime running light retrofit kit (#63122338554) installed since 2015 and it was working fine until recently.
Just a few days ago I noticed the halo rings are not working any longer. No full circles when switch is in off position, no upper arch in other switch positions.
Fogs are working as expected, except no upper arch. Since both of lights exhibit the same behaviour I am not convinced it's the lights themselves.

Are there any fuses I need to check? Is it the control module gone bad?
Any advise it greatly appreciated!

Module sounds like for both to go bad, i would disconnect and reconnect everything also check the fuse that goes to that location in the LKM.

Yes, thankfully the LEDs and control unit were fine. Needed to install new fuse holder since original one was damaged. Everything works again as expected now!
I love these DRLs. They give a totally new character to the car, so super happy they are back in working condition!

Has anyone had a bulb go out on part of your LED DRLs? I can not remember 8 yrs ago when installing these if its a sealed unit or not and before taking the bumper off I want to be sure it is something that can be accessed. Also any idea the bulb styles and wattage etc on all the different lights? I know my halo on one side is out.

I did have a part of one of the halos go out and it just turned out to be a loose connection by the bulb housing…just remove the cladding in the wheel well and recheck the connections there

One of my halos went out after only 1 year, just outside the 12 month / 12,000 mile warranty

Verified it was the fog housing by plugging it into the other side harness, and operation was the same. After that, I coded my DRL's to the actual fog light, and ran it that way for the next 2 years, when I replaced them with some Ebay specials.
