Just because your audio system goes to "10" does not mean it sounds best... Or is good for it.
I personally think this thread is ridiculous. "Embarrassed to have a justa".
JFC!!!
Take any honda Civic, Hyundai, Miata, etc for a spin. Yes, you usually have to go higher in the revs when passing or downshifting, but its generally the same for HP to weight of car, torques etc.

What did you expect? A Boss 302 torque curve!!!
Really? I was looking for some good info which I have been given by a lot of good mini owners. Do you really have to respond when you just want to **** on somebody?

When someones says they are embarrassed to own a Justa, then Yes.
Did anyone test drive the vehicle before purchase????
I don't there are any top tier stations in New Jersey unfortunately. I drive approx 23,000 a year so the one good move I made was not getting an S. hopefully I didn't make a mistake in buying a mini, time will tell!

Don't worry about it and just enjoy the car!
I have an '12 Coupe S and put 28,000 this last year...so no regrets...it's a car so enjoy it =D.
Remember, most threads on here are of ppl *****ing and complaining of issues. The ones that are having a great experience don't tend to post that up lol.
I don't see the point of going to redline once you pass the peak HP and Torque of the motor.
It's not a Honda..
The amount of power you make at redline is more then the amount of power you make in the next gear after upshiting at your power peak, plus torque gets multiplied by your gear ratio so peak torque at the wheels is lower after every up shift even at the same RPM. I haven't spent a lot of time in a justa cooper but enough to confidently say that power delivery is much more refined and linear then similarly powered Honda's.
Tell that to Subaru WRX owners with cooked ring lands from bouncing off the redline.
Tuning and abusing a boosted 230+HP 4cyl doing hard launches all day is not really in the same thing as hitting the rev limiter in a 110HP stone-aged engine, that has no significant history of failure. The first R50 rolled off the line over a decade ago, I imagine if they were so delicate that one had to baby the engine, I'd have seen dozens of threads about it.

See esfreerider's post just above yours.
I meant bouncing off redline a ridiculous amount...I guess people think they are Ken Block....gymkhana style lmao. Just like danjreed said haha
Dear OP - try THIS thread also, for a view from someone who has gone from a genuinely fast Mini to one which (at least in a straight line) gets dusted by pickup trucks on a regular basis.
The Justa is a particular wine, and not suited for all palates, however on a twisty course it is quite capable of traveling faster from A to B than a Corvette or a Porsche (depending I must immediately add, on the driver).
Once you get accustomed to the strengths and weaknesses of the Justa you just might find that you think you have made a wise choice, and I hope you sometimes find yourself grinning spontaneously. I know I do.
