Why? FWD is horrible for performance and acceleration compared to rear wheel or all wheel drive. No comparison whatsoever.
You'd have to be smoking crack to even compare a FWD vs RWD vs AWD. Completely different platforms. An upgraded FWD will be compared to another FWD and so on. |
coupe fever.
:thumbsup:I like the coupe enough to be on my second one . First was an S , now a new JCW very happy .

There was a 2 week shutdown at the Oxford plant in August. I wonder how much the US Coupe sales in October were reduced by that delay at the plant. My Coupe is "One of Ninety One". We need tee shirts and Go-badges |

Is inventory backing up with two months of low sales? Or are they slow bringing the 2014's to market?

Five sluggish months in a row. James, what are your thoughts on this?
|
I am not sure, but I don't think inventory is backing up because of these lower sales. I think Mini reduced Coupe delivery numbers to the US and that decreased the sales.

Just makes them more exclusive.
|
I would not trade my S coupe for any other MINI model. It is simply the exact car to keep the grin on my face. The low USA numbers mean it and the Roadster will remain a very exclusive group of owners.

Did I hear right, their stoping production on the R58 because of the low sales. I hope so, the less coupes I see on the streets the more exclusive my JCW coupe becomes lol. I have my coupe as my exotic car only take it out on the weekends lol and I drive my E92 M3 as my working truck lol. My mini is too exclusive to trash around, even though I do track it. But for some reason I get more people pulling me over on the mini than the m3. I guess the m3 is very common as I do see many on the streets.
|
That's a rumor but not confirmed. I expect the Coupe to run through the normal 6-7 year model lifespan.

I think it's pent up demand for the F56 Hatchback sucking off sales of all 2 door models. People are waiting to see it, drive it, and decide if they want to order one. They can't build them fast enough. I am an example. I originally wanted a JCW Coupe, but waited for the F56 release, read about it, saw pix, then went to dealer to drive it. It's a really nice car, almost as much power as the JCW and the new seats are similar to my Recaros. Really nice interior too. I actually went to put a deposit on one that was being shipped to Ontario CA but got beat to the punch. I then came to my senses and realized what I really wanted was the looks and performance of the JCW Coupe so I bought it. My wife was right as a soon as she saw my car months before: BUY IT NEWT, BUY IT TODAY!
