Erratic direction signal

I have a 2010 with 40,0000 miles. During very cold weather, after turning on the ignition, the turn signals will flash intermittently on their own. First the left and then the right (or visa versa). Sometimes the high beam will kick on too. All without touching the switch. This may go on for several minutes. The problem seems to go away after the engine reaches operating temperature and the interior is warmed up. This has happened before but to a much lesser degree in warmer months. Anyone ever experience this problem? Or is my Mini just possessed? Any comments or suggestion as to what to look for would be greatly appreciated.
