Here's the skinny. Purchased our Mini 2015 Apr. I wanted a Prius and the wife wanted a convertible. Then over conversations it evolved into me wanting a 335i or a 128i and the wife still wanting a convertible. Discussions continued and we started to realize that after alot of time in the work force and grinding away on our budget and trying to save for retirement and the kids education fund that we hadn't really done anything nice for ourselves.

Decided it was time for a convertible and was against the Mini as I had heard of reliability issues but was also starting at that time to pickup some wrenching skills. See how I held my ground there and we compromised?
Not to mention we're located in the Pacific Northwest where it pisses rain for months in the fall to spring.

So with these new found and ever developing skills we believed that we could justify owning a Mini. We would take care of what we classified as less involved maintenance on our future Mini. This would include brakes, lights, fluid and filter changes and whatever else we could research and not deem too "intricate".

Then it was time to search for a Mini.
