added LED lightbar to front grill

I added a Rigid Industries LED lightbar to my front grill and wired it to come on with the high beams. I used a Fein oscillating saw to cut the plastic grill and used the taller metal mounts turned sideways to attach it to the grill.

Installation

How big a deal was it to do this? I would actually have the dealer install it as I am a mechanical idiot. Is it that much of an improvement?

Awesome high beams

it makes a massive improvement to the high beams. The model is Rigid Industries 91061 SR-Series.

This is exactly what I'd like to do except I'm hiding it behind the grill.

Can you explain the wiring? Does power come from headlights or direct from battery? I test wired my light bar with power from the battery today and I fried my FRM which is now being replaced for something like $600.

Howdoes it only come on with high beams? Any chance of pictures of the wiring?

basic wiring for 'added' lights

notes:

1. picture implies everything runs to one SAME ground. In a car, the chassis is the ground so the physical location doesn't matter, so long as you are at a ground - typically bare metal body work.

2. this shows a simple manual toggle switch but you can make this something else. Make it the high beam trigger and they come on with high beams. Use the HB trigger AND a switch and they can come on only with the BH. Make it a line to fog light power and same effect but with the fogs.

3. Want to add air horns .... same basic layout ... a power wire to one of the horns becomes the trigger (pole 86)
