Brake pulse unit

Anyone install the little circuit board that Outmotoring sells
For the Mini that pulses the third brake light when applying the brakes?
The instructions are for an R56 which is totally different the the R57.
I am sure someone out there has done this.
Any help or advice.
Thanks

Yes we sell alot of the brake light pulsars.

You just remove the 3rd brake light and can wire it right into the wires same as an R56.

not enough wire to splice in

I used wires behind driver side rear light. My connection is near the little emergency pull cable. I think that goes to the gas cap lid. Lots of room there, too.

There are instructions somewhere on the web and on NAM for the convertible, I installed mine behind the drivers side rear light as mentioned above.

Sent from my Nexus 7 using NAMotoring

Thanks, does tapping in at the tail light area cause left and right brake light to also pulse?
I though the idea was for just the center brake light to flash???

Bubble and Squeak 12-26-2012 08:52 PM

I have installed one, I installed it on the driver side, just out of the area where the wires go up to the light. I do want to say, the wire colors that are in the instructions are not the same in the vert as they are in hard top. I sent a message and photo to the outboard peeps, but never got a reply.

If you follow the directions, just the center one will blink.

Works great, scares the crap out of people who follow to close.

Thanks I will try that. Did you get access fro outside or inside?
Thanks

gr8ful 01-02-2013 06:13 PM

Thanks for the help but I am still trying to understand how to get to the wires. Do need to remove all the trim pieces inside by the light or just that little oval panel. I only see a wrapped set of wires way up high forward of the light. I found where by cutting away of the wrap there are a brown a yellow/black and 2 black. I am going to tap power to the yellow and ground to brown.

any one have pics of the install? thanks

I finally got it. Looking at little unit with the chip on the left the wire on the left go to the light and the right side connect back to the wariness. A limitless different on the cabrio.

Do you have any discount codes for this forum members?

I was directing this question to waymotor.

I'm sorry if there was confusion.

Braminator 03-14-2013 07:46 PM

Like I said no such thing from way. He keeps his pricing reasonable so he does not need to have a discount code.

nutsofamily 03-14-2013 07:48 PM

Actually, the shipping for this product is very expensive.
I just purchased it elsewhere where shipping was fair.

Braminator 03-14-2013 08:05 PM

Well tell NAM member where so they can save money too then.

We could do that but we would have to do like other companies and raise our prices, then give out a discount code. I think most just prefer to avoid the discount code game, so we don't bother. Plus all customers are members of some forum somewhere.

So the savings was $2.25 to order from the that company over WAY.

nutsofamily 03-14-2013 08:27 PM

Well, since you seem so interested,
Before I posted my request for a discount code, I followed my checkout procedure and the shipping showed up as 14 something via ups.
I did not see any other options.

NOW, I just rechecked and it lists a shipping of only 5.50.

So I'm not sure what to make of this.

Obviously I wouldn't post a request for a few bucks!!!!!!

Sorry but you either must have been on someone elses website or had something in your shopping cart. Our website does NOT say UPS or USPS in the checkout proceedure and it has always been $5.50 for the last 2yrs.
Now if you had something else in your cart it may have gone up. Our website is not smart enough to know when we can ship multiple items together or in USPS flat rate boxes so it will charge shipping per item.
BUT what we do for ALL ORDERS is before the order is charged we will evaluate the order and if we find we can ship the order cheaper, even if it's a dollar, we will adjust the shipping price down, NEVER up. Then the new cheaper shipping price will be applied and the order processed, the customer then gets an email with the new lower shipping price. This is our standard shipping proceedure as we are in the business to sell MINI parts not profit from shipping like ebay companies do.

nutsofamily 03-15-2013 10:16 AM

Fair enough.

Thanks for clarifying.

gr8ful 03-15-2013 10:52 PM

Where ever U get it, the thing works great and gets their attention. I got mine from Outmotoring, I get all my Mini stuff from Aaron. He's honest and always helpful.
My $.02 worth.
