Are the 07's selling well?
 

I was thinking about upgrading from my 05 MCS and the dealer here in Milwaukee has 67 07's sitting on their lot. When I ordered mine in 05 they probably had 3. Are sales of the 07 bad? Are dealers discounting them or should I look to pay sticker like I did last time?

My dealer (Md.) told me that they are averaging 4 per day. No discounts, full MSRP. He is selling leftover '06's for -$1,000.00 below MSRP.

I don't know how good the sales are but some people here got as much as $650 off MSRP, I got $250 and floor mats, while others paid MSRP and didn't even get floor mats. But the better deals are definitley on the east coast.

I know some dealers on the West Coast charging over sticker!

2000 orders were placed on Feb.17th alone, and Mini sales were up 10% in March. So yeah, I'd say they're selling okay. ;)

that is 10% over last march's numbers. Saw that on Autoblog's monthly report

Mini of Sterling, outside of DC, seems to have very few on the lot and never tried to sell me one that was already there. They seem to be selling very well.

Are you sure they are 2007's? When I ordered at MINI of Mountian View, California they had a lot full of 2006's, but few 2007's. They were filling their allotments with orders.

If the Milwaukee dealership has 67 2007's, it sounds like they are in trouble. They probably have to order their full allotment to keep the dealership. We could use a few more dealers out here in California, but BMW isn't expanding them until they can supply all the existing dealers -- or so I've been told.

Check this article I found over at mini2 regarding first quarter sales. It shows the US market a bit wary of the 07s versus last years model (probably typical re-design worries). I don't think it's enough of a dip to concern BMW or US dealers from backing down on price however.

MINI Sales are marginally up in April 2007 over April 2006. Many dealers are still seeing 2007s trickling in. It appears to me, that May will be a good test for comparsion purposes since imports from the U.K. should be near 100%. My April 13, 2007 purchase was one of the first here in Pacific Northwest. As of now, there is at least an eighth month waiting list here. There is anecdotal information that indicates MINI USA website has seen a lot more activity this year. Check competitors. VW lots are full of GTIs.

Wow, that's a lot of inventory. For grins, I checked out the dealer's site and they do in fact list 67 '07 models. 11 are cabrios, but that's still 56 R56's on the lot. I'd think with that much inventory they'd be willing to deal.

Oregon dealership doesn't have any cars in the lot. 100% of cars sold from them are ordered according to the MA. And that's why I have to wait until July to get my car. They had about 6 2006 models... all non-supercharged ones. Even if they had 06 MCS at $1K below MSRP, I would order R56 just for the MPG. But the HP is 175 at the wheels, right? 0-60 in 6.2? R56 should be selling like hot cakes.

With 67 in inventory, PT Barnum would be proven right yet again if buyers paid sticker (jmo).

One thing's for sure -- a buyer won't get any discount if he's too timid to ask for one. Have no fear!

I could buy one from them instead of waiting but I would have to pay for the shipping. Dealer trades are impossible as there is no car in inventory at my dealership. Hahahaha.

Newbie here. Prestige Mini in Mahwah, NJ claims to be the largest dealer. Their website indicates that they have 132 07s in inventory (20 Cabrios). Could this number include vehicles in transit? We ordered our R56a w/Nav on March 1st and the car was at the dealer on March 24th (guess it's nice to be close to the POE). The buying experience was the most pleasant I have ever had when purchasing a new vehicle. Very low-pressure, but I don't have to tell you old-timers the cars sell themselves. MA's should actually pay for the privelage of selling the cars (LOL).

East coast is better than west coast (especially PacNW)... we live in the boonies. No good baseball team.:roll: no good football team. :sad: and no good basketball teams.:mad:

let me start this next thing by saying I hate the R56 but I will admit this. The HP isn't what makes the R56 faster than the R53 its the torque curve.

i was buying my r56 mcs saturday and all 9 loaner tags were out for test drives. they're selling themselves.

As gasoline continues beyond the $3 a gallon mark you can bet that sales will be strong... You want a bargain? Go shop an Expedition or Tahoe :grin:

r56mini I too feel your pain being in Oregon. Seems we get less deals and less of everything in general. Maybe one day there will send us more lovin' :grin:

BTW...did you get a call from your MA today? Seems our date got pushed up! My MA said they got word it would be June!
