Thank you! I will most certainly post a few pictures very soon! I am having a few things done to the car presently, like replacing the factory bonnet stripes and searching for new fog lamps to fit the grill.
As mentioned, my older Mini was a 2006, so before Mini changed the body-style- therefore the old fog lamps didn't mount properly on the 2009.
I am looking for suggestions on an affordable option for getting new fog lamps (for years 2007- up)
Would love to be able to make the Dragon event in May! Will search more specifics on that!

Cheers!!

Welcome to the club!

I believe at least 3 of us will be at the MINIs on the Dragon event this May (which is where we met up before), although agent.cooper's boyfriend always says they're going to bring his MINI instead of her Oxygen Blue :D.

As far as the logo, my mom bought my wife and I matching sweatshirts with that logo on it from CafePress, so maybe try searching on there.
Welcome again... Oh, and we'd love to see pics of your new MINI!

Welcome to the club!! Nice to see a new face. :D If you've never looked into MotD, it's an absolute BLAST! This'll be our third time going. Check it out: http://www.minisonthedragon.com

Yeah, Jimmy wants to bring his Pepper White... he kept insisting a few days ago that we were taking the Classic. I downright told him NO to that one... haha! I would NOT trust driving the Classic that far yet, especially when we know it has bad tires and a bad 2nd gear syncro... haha. :P

So it never fails, guys, this'll be the third time in a row... hahaha.

Jimmy's R53 is acting up JUST before the Dragon. Looks like we may be taking Basil after all. He has a "Service Engine Soon" light, a ticking noise from the engine and what feels like a cylinder not working correctly.
It's also making a really audible "Wub wub wub wub wub" noise from the center of the car, can't tell if it's the tires or the engine.

His brakes are also bad out of nowhere, he's thinking it may be a warped rotor causing the noise and issues with the brakes. Ordering new brakes/rotors first thing tomorrow morning. Upgraded EBS brakes I think. Yay.

Whew! If we can fix all of these before the Dragon, the Pepper White is going. If not... Basil will make his third trip to North Carolina! :D

Hope everyone is doing well. <3

I just ordered Molly one of these!!

I won't be able to do the Driving Lights until October, so I thought of this, a fellow MINIac has one on her '05 and I loved the look. I need to get Molly in for her 6mo. Service which will amount to her 4yr. Check Up too, on Thursday, April 19th I will have had Molly for 4 Fabulous Years!!
We ran a couple of errands today and sometimes I cannot believe how fun and exciting this little car is to just get in and go, happened twice today, once was just ran to put a check in the bank, the other was to go to our jeweler in the mall. She certainly has gotten under my skin, I talk to her all the time, I haven't been able to give her a bath, but I don't think she minds to much, it's just dirt from our trip to Ridge Motorsports Park, Shelton, WA...we had such a great time!!
4 years flew by, I'll be counting the next 4...and the next 4 after that...I LOVE MY MOLLY GIRL!!

Gave Basil a bit of a cosmetic update today!

It was a lot easier than I thought it'd be. I think it looks nice.

Cute Dog! Our Great Dane likes riding in the MINI, too... though she doesn't get to sit on the seats :D (Well, the BACKs of the seats, I guess)

Looks good! Love it!

Basil had the starting points of a makeover done today. He looks very different now, let me tell you...

I put his original mirror caps back on and replaced his scuttles with black jacks. Can't wait until I get his new wheels! Still need to find some nice, good tires - anyone have any suggestions for 15's?

Falken makes a really good tire. I've used them on a number of my cars. Good performance, wear, and especially the prices. bought my last set from discount tire direct.

I've been told that Falkens are good, but all the reviews said otherwise. I'll have to look again. Thanks.
Also, leaving for the Dragon tomorrow! I'm so excited!!

Haha, coming up in the next few weeks he won't even be recognizable anymore! :P He's getting some new (black) wheels and I'm thinking of removing his bonnet stripes. He's gonna be getting a new roof when I can afford it, too.

So how has everyone been? Keeping busy, I hope! :D I may or may not have some awesome news soon... I'm really, really hoping for it. I'll let you guys know if it works!

A shot of Basil with our classic, Pippin.

New OB owner here!

Hi All,
I've been wanting a MINI since I first saw one in 2002 and now I can finally say I'm a MINI owner! I got my OB 2008 MINI Hardtop from MINI of Madison, WI and love it! My wife isn't a "MINIac" like me but after driving it for 3 days she's already falling in love with it as well.

I named her "Motor Z" after my two daughters, Zahra and Zoha. Now I just need to find some time to "you-ify" it!

I'm thinking about whiting out all trim since some of it is starting to rust. Has anyone done this or any thoughts? Thanks

I've seen photos of an O2 Blue floating around with all the chrome white.... maybe even in this thread? Not my cup of tea, but it doesn't look bad. Plastidip might be a good option.

Yeah, there is one in this thread. I haven't seen her around in probably a year though, don't remember her user name but I remember her car well. It has a blue koi fish on the roof.

Edit: her username is redkiwi! The car's name is Atori.

I'm keeping my little OB MINI busy!

Took it out to Sebring last weekend:

And made a video of my new exhaust today:

Hope everyone else is doing well!

Mine is also 09. Is that the last year?
In the SF Bay Area rust is not a problem but 5 months of no rain is. Yellow and blue bird splat on the white roof can be a chore to get off. I was out of town for a week and the splat was really hard to get out. There are a few yellow and blue ghost stains that I couldn't get off. It rained for the first time last week and the 0xyblue Mini looked great after a good rinse and wipe down.
Next Summer I will get a cover.

btw
Has anybody sold theirs?
Are they collector items?
The new light blue has the same sort of style as the oxygen blue but I still think the oxygen blue is more styling.

IIRC, they made '10 Oxygen Blue MINIs up until ~March '10.

I wouldn't expect them to be collector's items. Oxygen Blue may be kinda rare, but there are far rarer colors out there (Laguna Green, for instance).
