i just returned from picking up & driving my MINI home (Arizona to Seattle). it was a great ride taking me through Vegas, Death Valley, Yosemite NP, and the Oregon Coast. i'll post a trip report if folks want ... it was a lot of fun; lots of great windy roads that really helped the car show off its capabilities. here are a few pics!

Holy cow! what a coincidence

I'll be picking up my MINI on June 12 (in LA) and driving to Tucson to visit my family. Two and a half weeks later I'll be taking the same drive to my house in Seattle.

The only difference is that it will be parked in my garage until some time in 2009 I'll have something fun to drive during my periodic visits home.

How many days did you allocate for your drive from AZ to WA? I can't wait for my vacation now!

Ever since I saw this mod, it kept me thinking about doing it to my MC. But I have to ask about the label associated with painting the calipers, if there is any? Why do you paint them ordinarily, besides asthetics? Is it something you only do to a sporty car? Can someone elaborate on this? Thanks!

Overcast skies and a sunset mean that I wasn't able to do the color justice. Since I can't seem to link my attached files or figure out how to create my gallery:

maybe you would be up for this?

you and I are going nearly completley different routes. you want some of my chrome haha? to each their on.
I could really get into your car style except the wheels. I think it is just too much. what about a black chrome to go with the roof and pillars? if not paint your calipers black to maybe tie back in the black? in the least you chose a great color

OOHHH!! That's HOT!
An MCS in CR/W seems even hotter without the stripes!
Btw, what's her/his name?

Lyn,

Very nice, what wheels and tires do you have mounted? I almost wish I had gone with DS/DS versus my DS/w, just almost. Next week I will know.

Very classic looking.
Don S.

07 MCS/a DS/w ...etc...

Don:

I have the 17" Zinik Z7 rims with factory Dunlop run-flats mounted. I am not crazy about the run-flats but I couldn't justify changing them out until they needed it.

Too bad one can't get DS with a Pure Silver top. That would look good, and be practical.

Silver roofs used to be an option - I think they looked really cool too.

Before I copped out and decided to spend my money on the MFSW that never came I was swapping back and forth between BRG and DS. I still love both those colors a lot.
