R56 Things you didn't know about your R56 MINI
This setting should be on the OBC with the auto-locking that turns on when you go. There's an arrow icon (locks when you take off) and a clock icon (locks after a certain amount of time if the doors aren't opened). You should be able to cycle through until one or both of these are on.
So, apparently there isn't a feature that auto re-locks (re-arms) the car if you accidentally disarmed the car.
Also, if you unlock the doors while the car is on, the auto-locking will not activate again until the car is turned off and turned back on.
So, I've just tried the passenger door. Does the one click option unlock everything at once, including the boot and gas door?
With the 'first-click' driver door only unlock, the boot and gas door also remain locked until second click (or trip of center toggle switch).
Same thing would be true with any of the 'auto-lock' features activated and you just unlock driver door to exit.
For me, it is enough that one click of 'Lock' locks everything and prefer that one click also un-locks everything.
One other thing to keep in mind is that you can open a locked boot with key/fob, but when closed it will be locked again.
Comfort Access protects by not 'auto-locking' boot if key/fob is detected inside, but standard system does not.
I think part of the problem is how the manual is written. I found where it documents the option to have all the door locks open with one push of the fob button, but it took a lot of reading to find it. Instead of listing all of the customizable computer settings in one spot, each is located in a separate section based on what was being set. For example, the passing signal setting is in the turn signal section, door locks setting in the door locks section, etc.
There's so many options in the Setup menu, Mini should really add an appendix to the manual that lists what each Setup item is and what each sub-item does, with section references to get further details.
The downside of doing this is it would take away the joy of discovering unknown fuctions of your Mini. And worse yet lessen the posts made here; where's the fun in that???

Regarding unlocking the doors. I have comfort access so use the small black button on the door handle to unlock my door. I have it set so only the driver door unlocks. My question is with the fob, if you push the unlock button twice it first unlocks drivers door (if that is how you have it set) then a second push unlocks the rest of the doors. With comfort access using the small button on the door handle it does not seem to do this, it only unlocks the drivers door or all depending on how you have it setup, I can't seem to make it work like the fob with the 1 click, 2 click method. Is this correct?

The real problem is just that we speak English. Car manuals are written by Greeks who speak Italian, but no English. In case you doubt that unlikely combination, be advised that I had a TOOTH filled in just such a situation this past May, on my last trip over the Pond!
It was an interesting experience--ask me about it some time...

In answer to your question, I don't think it's possible to set up the one-press two-press method for the door handle.
How do you set up the comfort access to unlock all the doors at once when you push the button on the door handle? Is it the same setting as changing the key fob?

When you use the heater in the Auto mode heat comes out of all the vents, including the defroster. That's nice, I never need to defrost the windshield and a little heat comes out of the dash vents too (the floor gets the most). I like it.
yeah ive noticed that too, especially in cold rain.. no fogging and still warm!
May be a dumb question but how do you specifically select "heater"? Is it just a temperature adjustment? Or will it actually say heater?
With the 'Auto' it just checks the interior temperature and automatically sets the outlets and heat for you.
It Does have buttons to select defrost, dash or floor manually as well, but temperature is still automatic, according to Hot/Cold setting.
The 'MAX' button puts in re-circulate and Highest Fan setting, or at end of upper and lower Temperature settings, there are "Hi/Lo" that give High Fan, but not re-circulate.
On auto, have noticed A/C lite is on and that removes moisture from air, or you can press the snowflake button and turn it off.

Makes me think I should've bought this package. Sounds pretty neat.
I should've written it down when I read it in this thread b/c now I can't find it....how does one unlock all the doors at once on the first "unlock" press. What does the icon look like in the menu? I wish the manual was more thorough and organized.
1. Press the button in the turn lever until it says, "SET/INFO".
2. Press and hold the button.
3. Press the button until you see "SET" with the key symbol and the check-mark on it.
4. Press and hold the button.
5. Press the button until you see a miniature car with the left door open.
6. Press and hold the button.
7. Press the button until you see a miniature car with BOTH doors open.
8. Press and hold the button.
Now, the remote you are using is programmed to unlock the entire vehicle in one press, which is my preference.
In a nutshell, here's what you do:
