I see MINIs have slayed the Dragon, tell me about your story!

I've been going to the Dragon every year since 2003. For the first 2 years I did it in a 2000 Contour SVT. It had BAT springs, Bilstein struts, Eagle F1's, ss brake lines, carbon/ceramic pads, 24 mm hollow rear sway bar and it was great, or atleast until I took my 2005 Crossfire out there. With less weight, RWD, more hp and torque plus my "electronic friends" the car was unbelievable, plus I'm sure having Michelin "Pilots" didn't hurt either. I can't wait to go this year and I'd like to know what to expect with this car. I know its going to blow away my other two cars but I'd like to hear some stories and what to really expect with this car. It will also be helpful to here some thing to NOT do as well. I look forward to my trip every year and usually go in early October as its less crowded but there's enough people down there anyways and it has never been boring. I stay in Tellico Plains and this works best because all I have to do is take the Cherahola Skyway to get there, a great road in its own right, not to mention the scenery All together its about a 140 mile day and even though I've been there 4 times I have yet to run it in the dark, but I've been on the Skyway in the dark and its alot of fun!

Let the stories begin!

Some would tell you that what happens at the Dragon, stays at the Dragon.

The MINI will kick your other cars butts on the Dragon. There's only a few vehicles I've experienced that can hang with MINI's on the Dragon: R-compound boosted Miata's, Super Motards, and that's about it. Vipers, Corvettes, Camaros and Mustangs are historically very much in the way, along with most crotch-rocketeers.

That's about what I was expecting to hear and considering I've added the sport suspension and LSD to my car should make it that much better. I wonder how the runflats do out there, with the stiff sidewall does it hurt anything? I was thinking of selling off the tires and going with some Yokes Paradas or the BFG KDW2's, but I'd like to hear what you guys have to say.

Roger, go to the National Events forum and read some of the threads from past Dragons. You'll get a kick out of the tales and pix!

well i have a story it consists of : 1 MINI, 1 Mini, 1 pocket rocket, 3 women, 2 racks of Cherry Jello shooter , a rubber snake, chocolate syrup, a funnel, a box of floss, 5 sets of hancuffs and 3 police officers.

Now i would go into detail about how all that went together but Like QueenB said.

that what happens at the Dragon, stays at the Dragon

Buy the BFG KDW's over the Paradas. Trust me. I've had both.
