R56 Where are the first R56's going?
Where are the first R56's going?
I was curious where the first R56's would be delivered... so I created a frappr map here:

If you have a January build R56 (or anyone in the US have a December car?), and you have the time, please sign up and put a pin where you and your MINI will reside.
Don't you want to know where you car's siblings live?

well.............. if you live around mahwah, nj (close to BMW NA HQ) you can see plenty of r56's flying around on the highways (rt 287, 17, etc...). Having seen them in the flesh I do have to say that they do look much better in the flesh.
I can tell you where a LOT of them AREN'T GOING

I can tell you as of today where a LOT of them aren't going... to the people who ordered and spec'd the "first wave" of new 07 Minis. Go see the "multifunction steering wheel" thread and read about how BMW has screwed up an intial batch of USA orders due to miscommunication/lack of training for their US dealers. I just REORDERED (scratching that VIN number for a car that is on a boat was PAINFUL) my 07 MCS today. Instead of seeing and driving my new car in around three weeks or so, I'm now back at the end of the line, probably waiting till what, mid to late April.

I don't know if I could handle that, personally. Waiting since August 2nd (with two more months to go) has been just about unbearable!

But I feel for you, man... Don't suppose that's a bargaining chip for you to use to get better deal -- since technically your dealer screwed up your order -- so make sure you get your money's worth for your pain and suffering.

BTW, cool map idea... but no way to show production/delivery date though -- can't really get an idea of "order" of arrival.

Wow. A good percentage going to the east coast!
No cars whatsover going in tothe Dakotas, Nebraska, Indiana, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Colorado or New Mexico? The (western) central and Mountain time zones appear to be MINI-free!

Yeah, it's that darn "head west from England, then south to Panama, then North to California, then East on a truck to get to the moutain states" that puts us at a disadvantage.
