Motortrend's take on the R56

Saw this on www.motoringfile.com... if you didn't see it, it's a good read:

R56 anticipation and frustration

MT sure did offerb the most favorable review that I have seen. I am really excited to get one, but I will reserve judgement until I've driven it.

'I heard things' ...thats all

What feature or change makes you most excited or frustrated?

Why didn't they get the year of the MINi correct. Article is good but that's a pretty basic mistake.

I read that article in the actual mag, was good stuff! I cant wait to actually drive these damn cars when the get here in feb, <rediculously excited

Pretty good article, but the have the EPA mileage wrong. It looks more like the R53 Cooper S mileage. 25/32.

HA!!! Me, too! Sold the wife's Volvo XC earlier than expected and she's now driving (what used to be) my S70R!

I thought I'd tought it out on the Triumph motorcycle, but the winter has been worse than expected. I'm now driving my mother-in-law's B,U,I.C, K (I can't say it without throwing up a little in my mouth:cry: ). Uuuuugggghhhh!!!

I FEEL YOUR PAIN! Not sure if mine has made a boatride yet.

Ah, if that article got you overly pumped up and anxious with "the waiting", you won't want to read the February issue of Grassroots Motorsports! Those guys are serious DRIVERS and have had several earlier Minis they've owned and raced, and they just LOOOOOOVED the car. I could just feel myself blazing through turns on my favorite west county backroads. YEAH! Their writeup was the reason I had to drink SEVERAL pale ales Saturday night. Uh huh!! It really got me HOT!!

I keep hearing a lot about this GRM issue, so I'll make sure to pick one up this week. Sounds like a great read!

It's only a couple pages, but worth a read. Somewhere on this group there's a complete scan of the latest Sports Car International article. That's worth a read too.

Good read, but MT is wrong about "every" body panel being new; the floorpan is a carryover from the previous generation.
