CV output shaft assemble axle won't install enagage

I bought a new CV from Pelican Parts for my 2012 R56 JCW: https://www.pelicanparts.com/search/...5-473-M1192%09

I'm able to get it lined up and installed initially, but it won't engage all the way in - even if I take the circlip off. I can install the old one without issue. I've hit it hard, I've hit it self, but no luck. Any suggestions?
