Installed some MOOG K201524 front sway bar bushings (for Cooper S with sport suspension, 23.5 m, and 24 mm sway bar diameter, the latter is for JCW suspension. Had VAICO's in there for 30k miles. \
VAICO must be OEM brand because the OEM sway bar brackets had VAICO logo inside.
Last I did this job I had the engine out. Torqued to spec, 122ft lbs. That's way tight given how hard they are to access by just dropping the subrame.
I did not make them that tight this time. What a nightmare getting those things off, whilst on my back under the scissor lift.
Not sure what the MOOG has 2 different numbers printed on the bottom even though they looked identical. The MOOGs feel less rubbery and more plastic than the VAICO bushing. Both have a material lining on the inside surface. I added silicon paste to all surfaces even though the manual says not to do so on the inside surface.
Vaico are aftermarket OES that matches best to the OEM. On the Bushings its usually delphi, febi Bilstein, or lemforder for Genuine MIN (just without the name) dependent on the model and OD size.
