2008 Mini Cooper S JCW died and won't start
 

This is my sisters car, so I'm going to do my best to explain.

We were driving home from a road trip one afternoon and pulled up to a stop light. When it came time to pull away, the car was acting like she wasn't giving it any throttle at all and just died. Tried to start it back up and it would crank but not fire. Earlier on the roadtrip she was saying the brakes were intermittent, but the vac pump was just put in a few months ago. A month or so before the roadtrip we scanned it with a bmw scanner and there were several issues, when we tried to fix those issues in software they would disappear and other issues would pop up that it didn't have before. When the car died we checked to see if it had any fuel pump noise and couldn't hear anything, but that could be because we were next to a highway and couldn't hear anything well.
