Bike Mount Solutions, Roof and Hitch Mount Alike. What’s yours?

Looking for pics of bike setups. I have the OEM roof racks with rocky mounts eurofork style bike carriers. I can’t open my hatch without the rear spoiler rubbing. I’m looking for something better.

Rockymounts brass knuckles with Leap spoiler extension. The extension barley kisses the tire on my Bucksaw.

Looks like exactly what I wanted to see. OEM racks and BrassKnuckles. I don’t have the spoiler extension, but with my 29” Stumpjumper, my spoiler doesn’t have enough clearance with my current fork mounted RockyMounts Jetline.

its frustrating. I need a 1-2” lift or water bottle each time under my back tire to get it to not rub.

Brass Knuckles seems like a good choice for me, especially being able to get the front wheel on my roof instead of in my hatch. Any complaints about it? Fitment issues with the OEM racks? Does the lack of gram security bother you? I’m not sure that I like the lack of a lock that attaches to the frame as a mild theft deterrent.

thanks for the post!

Rich

I love everything except the locks. Overpriced cheap barrel locks. I've broke one key off inside and one other won't turn. I would go with a different brand lock if that possible. One other thing is 27.5 3.8 just barely fit so if you plan on going bigger than that down the road you'll have to let air out to get the arm over.

Yea, my lock-cores suck also. I assumed that a 29” bike wouldn’t be an issue, but I guess I never really checked.

Your 29er will be fine. My girlfriends Jamis is a 27.5 + 3.0 and it has no issues.

I still can’t seem to see how the locks even help on this design. Seems like you could wriggle the bike free.

I have the MINIFINI Sport Link system. www.minifini.com

They have a frame mount system that has a bike mount... or a hitch mount so you can use your own hitch style bike rack.

https://www.waymotorworks.com/mini-fini/ may have more stuff in stock... but you can email MINIFINI to see what they have.

Here are a couple more pictures.

The hitch mount accessory detaches super easy and the only thing you have showing is two silver circles sticking out of the bumper. They are the attachment points for the accessories but they look like some James Bond car accessories. You know... oil slick... smoke screen...

The system works well and has plenty of clearance for steep driveways. I've never scraped it.

It allows me to use my hitch mount bike rack which is what we use on the other vehicles.

Unfortunately, it’s a real expensive solution. Looks great though.
