Trunk Lubricant

Hey,

Does anyone know of a good grease or lubricant to use for the trunk? Specifically, for the liftgate Lift Support Shock Strut Damper.
#6 on here:

It squeaks when I try to shut it and gravity no longer helps close it.

Probably need to replace it. You can try some graphite or lithium lube but usually those are inexpensive and easily replaced when they start to fail.

Thanks!

Does anyone have a recommendation for the replacement brand? I found Üro for real cheap:

I think grease would be too thick. I'd use silicone spray.

Those dampers are usually pretty common, maybe find a replacement at a major auto parts store. All you really need is equivalent piston length and extension...same type of connecting points help too.

All grease does is collect dust on one of those.
