Door won't close all the way
 

I've been having issues with the Driver's door on my 2011 Cooper. I need to press down on the door handle (outside) or roll down the window and put my weight on the Sill to get the door to latch. It makes an "clunk" sound when it does not work. The hinges on the door do not appear to be loose, and it does not look like I can move the striker up to make it catch. I have lubricated this with white grease, which maginally improved it. I have more issues in the colder weather than when it's warm.
I don't want to spend the $200 buck on the latch mechanism, as I am not seeing the typical locking issue. Anyone else have this issue>

Do you have pictures of the lock itself in the door jam or the striker point? My guess is the lock is damaged, striker bent or the door misaligned?
