SOLD!! 10+ years of mostly trouble-free motoring.

SOLD!!

Bye bye NFR MINI!

I'll miss ya.

I took delivery in May 2008... sold in October 2018. 159,000km, around 100,000 miles of mostly trouble free motoring.

I didn't even advertise, not even a for sale sign on the car - - word-of-mouth only.

*edit - sorry about the multiple posts... haven't posted here in a while, I'm out of practice!!

I paid $24,500 (+ taxes etc). I asked $5300, took an offer from a local woman for $5100. Canadian $$$.

I've attached a few photos of the car on her last day with me... doesn't look 10+ years old, does she? Still a head-turner.

What did you get to replace it?

I replaced the Mini with a Chevrolet Volt.

Here in Ontario Canada, the provincial government had a big push on to encourage people to purchase electric vehicles. My Volt qualified for a rebate... a $14,000 rebate. That took the ~ $40,000 (Cdn) price of the new Volt to around $26,000 (+taxes etc... can't get away from those). General Motors also had a $500 "incentive" so that helped too.

I bought the new Volt just a couple of days before a provincial election because it looked like the ruling Liberal party would be tossed out, which it was. The first thing the new government did when they got into office was to cancel all the car rebates and a bunch of other "Green" energy stuff, just as I suspected would happen. So I timed my purchase perfectly.

I love it when a plan comes together...

Nice Volt, good timing! E cars are here to stay, I'm just wondering when it will dawn on leaders that out electric grid won't keep up.

Did you get the rapid 240V charger?

My SIL has one, the dealer changes oil for free for some great reason.

I would use non-eth gas as it can sit in the tank for a long time.
