How to replace the side mirror glass

Hello, yesterday I received my Helix mirrors (blue, blind spot, polarized).
I was watching videos and looking a lot on the internet to know what was the correct procedure to remove the current mirror.
I thought I already knew how to do it perfectly with the help of a plastic stick and my hands.
After trying very carefully, taking it with my fingers, both mirrors broke when trying to remove them.
Fortunately, the new mirrors were placed perfectly, but I will not be able to change it for two reasons:

1) the OEMs are broken
2) surely when I try to remove the current ones, they will also break.

Does anyone know what is the correct procedure to remove the mirrors without breaking them?
I really feel useless for having broken the original mirrors...

When I change my covers to another colour I just push the mirror in near the body and get my fingers into the outer rim of the glass and pull. Done this several times and not broken one.

That's what I did, no tools involved at all.
I pressed the mirror in the side of the car body, and in the other end I put my fingers, I made strength and the glass broke.
In the other mirror, I pressed the top area and put my fingers in the bottom, pulling it out and it also broke ...
