Turbo Heat Shield

2008 S Hardtop. Looking for one that works but also adds style to engine bay. Engine mods inc Tune by Mario kart, K and N cold intake, meth water injection, larger intercooler, high efficiency cat, Borla exhaust

Thoughts? Photos?

Thanks,

Rob

The NM titanium one is a pretty good option: https://www.waymotorworks.com/nm-tit...eatshield.html

Stylish or works, pick one, you can't have both, when it comes to turbocharger heat shields. The best one is WMW's Turbo Heat Shield and you can't see it when it is installed.
Though you could put the NM titanium shield over the turbo wrap.

It keeps the heat in the hot side of the turbocharger, improving turbocharger efficiency. it also lowers your underhood temperatures about 20F.

NM, CTS, and M7 make a good one.

Whatever you choose just make sure you get one for the N14 engine fitment.

all the "stylish" shields are over the OEM.. and they put the heat right at the edge of your valve cover. I just cant justify something that cost that much, being a band-aid and having poor functional design.

**Im spending on a turbo blanket and am wrapping the DP.. hopefully this will allow me to remove the OEM shield. Ive also though about chopping the OEM shield down so that its just the first 4" to cover the manifold and a bit of the turbo... still playing with the idea. May buy a spare shield off ebay and mock it up.

Yes we have our custom WMW turbo wrap that is specifically made for the MINI turbo. It isn't anything off the shelf these are cut and formed to fit the MINI turbo only. We have been selling them for 11yrs now and they have been a great product to protect from that heat.

I have the WMW blanket because it keeps the heat where it needs to be (and it fits perfectly) and the NM titanium shield just because I like the looks of it.
