Re-using rear fog/reverse lights on JCW aerokit for MCS

So someone nailed my rear bumper and it’s cracked. To get it repaired I’m out a few hundred bucks plus paint, so I thought this might be an opportune time to get the JCW aerokit added on.

I have a 2012 MCS with rear fogs and pdc. Can I re-use those lights or do I have to switch to the split one fog/one reverse light? It looks like the MCS lights in the lower grill are a bit bigger than those in the aerokit, it may just be the pics I’ve seen.

Any help is is greatly appreciated!

I'm pretty sure that the fog lights in the MCS trim are physically different than the JCW aerokit ones so you won't be able to reuse them. JCW ones are slightly narrower but taller.

See realoem.com, the MCS rear bumper and fog lights are very different from the JCW.

^ the difference is the model year, 2011 and on are the styling refresh (LCI) which have different fog/backup light shapes for S vs JCW.

For your 2007, since you did it it obviously works.

+1 If you had a Cooper S form 2007-2010 with factory rear fogs they would swap. But on the 2011+ R56 they changed the rear bumper lens shape.

Thanks for all of the replies. Good info to have. Unfortunately my “deal” on the kit turned out to be just for the retro-for portion plus some grills. Didn’t include the bumper covers, so it didn’t make sense. I’ll have to keep a look out for the kit through ECS or just replace the current bumper.

No super deals on the R56 Aero right now, we just have the R60 and R55 Aero kits on super sale. The R55 front bumper can be used but its pepper white and the side skirt and rear bumper won't fit the R56.

That doesn’t seem like a bad option. The side skirts are sctually really pricey. The front and rear bumper aren’t too bad but all of those grills and plastic trim add up quickly.
