maybe this stuff is worth a shot. Pretty cheap, put up for summer and remove for winter.

following up, i just went and installed the insta cling stuff ( 12@wal mart )
Maybe saving others some time, I spent an hour making a cutting template, only to learn that the thing can be cut exactly rectangular. Measure length and width, straight edge cut, round the corners a bit. There is a wide black margin on the glass so you can stand a bit of slop in the cutting and never see it. I could probably do it again in a half hour.
Opinion, what a world of difference, no more glare. 5% is not as dark as I'd like but ok.

Sunshade...
My sunshade thingy is loose. So my plan is to take it out and see if I can replace the fabric. I don't yet know how likely this is, but as long as it's thin enough and the springs are good it should work. I figure. Just my thoughts. The only issue I can immediately see is lining the edges with something flexible that will reinforce the fabric. Similar to the OEM shade.
