OEM Sunroof Sunshade will not block the sun
So this is my problem, i get hot when the sun is directly above me and i do need a solution to this. The small holes that the OEM sunshade has doesn't do much of a shade. Is there a cure for this cause im thinking to replace that OEM material with another one but that might be a lot of work!

You can wrap the glass with an OEM graphic and it cuts down on the sun, in 2011+ MINI the glass is darker. On my 07 MINI it was much lighter and an OEM roof graphic helped reduce that with the oem shade.

You could buy a really cheap aftermarket sunroof cover. However, you'll have to deal with the rattles and creaks that comes with it.

I bet you can fit the zippee shades in between the glass and the roller shade, and have them rest on the roller shade with no problem. You could put whatever you want between the shade and glass area. Maybe cut some dense fabric to size and save a lot of money Or even cut a cheap sunshade

Thats a good idea, only some how youd have to stabilize that fabric so it wont jiggle and perhaps make noise when cruising.

Theres no way id ever tint the glass black, that would make it useless and permanently.

I am in Texas and in the summer time I find the the heat is too intense coming thru the OEM screen. So since 2010 I buy white poster boards for couple of bucks, cut them to size, and stick them from the inside using two sided clear tape. It keeps the sun out very well and in the winter I take them off. Every few years I invest in new poster boards as they tend to get faded yellow looking with the sun. I had Zippee Shade for my 2004 Mini and with age the fabric was falling apart, and the suction cups had the tendency to periodically lose gripe.

Hello, i have no idea what poster boards are. Can you send me a link to the poster boards that you bought? How thick are those poster boards?

A very low tech (and inexpensive) solution that works for me is to wear a fishing hat:

Your question may have already been answered, but what I did was go to a home improvement store and bought some 5% tint for home windows. It's more of the static cling type as opposed to professional auto tint, and it's not particularly easy to install... Two layers of that and ,,,,,,,shady in there. The rest of the car's glass is tinted as dark as my state allows, but if someone in the future wants to pull the moonroof tint off and burn their scalp off in the Texas sun, then it's an easy removal.....
