Timing Chain replacement project

Hello All,

I recently had the top guide break on my '07 S, and decided to take on the project myself. I have all of the parts, but was hoping someone on here has the cam locking tool that I could either purchase, rent, or borrow. I'm in the Chicagoland area and would appreciate any help anyone can give.

Thanks,

Bryant

Thank you. It would be awesome, if I could rent it from you. I'd pay you $50 to be able to use it for an hour, then ship it back to you. I definitely do not need to own this tool forever, as I don't anticipate ever buying another r56 after all the headaches I've experienced.

Some tips, from experience:
Puzzle the chain guides back together to check if you've got all the pieces out. I found back a piece of plastic behind the oil pump sprocket...

If you also want to replace the Vanos sprocket (unit), buy a PSA part (Peugeot/Citroen -if available in the US). Same part, quarter of the price!

Good luck!

Markos- Do you have a PSA part number for the Vanos?

From a German Mini Forum (I did not verify it btw):
0805.H5, succeeded by 0805.K1.
