Running high oil levels can lead to increased oil venting through your PCV especially if you run a lot of high RPMs. You often see warnings on engines where they advise against overfilling and often these engines are in higher RPM installations. The additional vented oil is not a good thing for your CAT or the environment so it's best to try to keep the oil at the max level or just below.

If oil is high enough in the crankcase, the crankshaft will whip it into a foam that the oil pump cannot pump(cavitated pump). Not sure where the low mark is on your dipstick but assuming the dipstick tube top is the low mark of your dipstick, it appears as though your oil level is nearly twice as high up the dipstick as it should be. Based on my assumptions that would give me cause for concern, as it appears to be far more than half a quart high, and I would correct it.
