Extended Warranty Water Pump

Just received notice of repair / reimbursement up to 7 years 84k mi. Maybe I'll get my 2010 mca checked out.

I got the same thing today. Here is a PDF

it looks like this only applies if you're still on the original "plastic" water pump.

I got my letter yesterday, it extends the warranty to 7 years or 84k miles. That means my 08 is already 1 year out of warranty. Why do they waste the postage on mailing these things out?

Are you KIDDING me? My 3/2008 is also already a year out of warranty and it still has the original plastic water pump. I was going to replace it myself, now I have to wait for the letter and see whats what. My dealership is usually pretty dang good about stuff like this. But we'll see on this one!

I received today in the mail and my warranty expires in August and i need to get my water pump fix too. From my understanding the settlement is for reimbursement. I had a hard time deciphering the letter. Would I take my car to the dealership and the would fix it? Or would I pay for it first and wait for reimbursement? I'm so confused! :x

They way i read the letter is if you paid out of pocket in the past you could apply for reimbursement. If it hasn't been done yet you could take it in for warranty work at the dealer.

I also got the letter but my MINI is already out of the 7 year coverage limit. I also still have my original waterpump. I would hope that if it fails that MINI would make some kind of goodwill repair. At least I'll check 1st if it fails before doing it myself. Too bad the thermostat isn't covered as I get the sense that many more of these have failed prematurely vs the waterpump.

My thoughts and situations exactly.
