Since these items are for additional storage protection vs while driving, seems only of real value to those whom must leave their cars outside exposed to intense sun with resulting UV damage. Understandable if using MINI as daily transportation to work, but of no value while driving. As a benefit of being retired, I bought mine (per username) strictly for fun thus it won't ever be stored outside as long as I own it.

Open to contrary views...

I use the sunshades daily while driving. They lower the temp in my car considerably, which in Florida is a big plus. I am more interested in keeping things cool while driving than in using my sun roof. It has nothing to do with storage, although that is also an added benefit.

The prices are crazy $$$

Apart from the Zipee moderl (which is sold out everywhere for my 2008 model), the other options are up to $300 for the rear 3 windows. Do they really cost that much to make?

I ordered mine through Amazon initially but they emailed back and said it would be delayed. I order direct form Zippie and they were shipped out promptly. Works great and you can still tilt and open without removing. Works very well!

I'm 99% sure the R53 is the same as the R56 as far as the Zippie shades.

Mini Mania has that at $39. Not bad if their shipping is reasonable.

It's on sale for $15 off right now! Shipping depends on your zipcode, so just hit the "Shipping Quote" button on the page to find out. Also, here is an application guide for all type, makes and models:

Hope this helps, we'd love to earn your business!
