What Is This Engine Part and What Does It Do?
So I changed the oil in my 2013 R56 N18 this weekend for the first time since purchasing it in February and had a hard time removing the oil filter housing from underneath the turbo coolant? hose. The metal piece in the pictures was in the way. I then found out that I can push it to the driver's side to make more room.
Does anyone know what this piece is called and what it does? I noticed I can swing to the driver or passenger slide fairly easily and it makes a noticeable click when I do so.
The number on the sticker is S250612028A. I tried Googling it but didn't find any useful results.

I ran the number thru RealOEM.com and the search function didn't find it. You say it points over to the driver's or passenger's side? I suspect it is a covert devise planted there by a black ops organization so they can collect data on either the driver or passenger. Other than that, anybody's guess.

I guess I can ask Way of Way Motor Works or someone at the dealership the next time I'm at either location.

Yeah, I've read there is less slack in the coolant hoses now so the reservoir is harder to move out of the way. The turbo hose nearly blocks the removal of the oil filter housing. At least it's a flexible hose that I was able to move out of the way.

That looks like the top linkage for the shifter unit for manuals on the transmission. It moves with the gear shifts. There is your sticker. 23007602720
