Me vs s60

Well I bought my wife a new car and kept her Mini Cooper s. Well my friend has an 2002 Volvo S60 with a straight pipe. He say my mini is cute and will bust my ***. So I told him to b ready on the 15th. I did some research and his 02 has 197 hp and weighs 3146lbs and that puts his power to weight 0.062. Well my 08 automatic mini s is 174hp and weighs 2546 lbs and my p2w is 0.068. So on paper I should win but to b on the safe side I got an k&n intake system, Alta fmic, Alta hot side tube, Riss dp, Alta bov, exhaust system, and Accessport all of which will b installed before the 15th.
It's going down. This cute car gonna bust his @ss😈

The S60 is no hot rod but it's no slouch. If the Volvo is in good shape you may have to eat some humble pie.

Ammodave. Having been in the Honda game forever. I don't take anything or car for granted. That's why I did all these mods to my mini. Stock for stock my car should win. The s60 runs a 15.7 and the mini s ran a 15.0 That is an good estimate since these numbers came off the same cite so I assume same driver, track, etc. I figure with my mods I should b putting down at least 220whp and his car is around 180whp.

In addition he went to the track and ran a 17+ quarter mile. He claimed he had a boost leak. So I told him I'll give him until the 15th to get all the bugs out of his ride. I don't want any excuses but in actuality I need that time to get everything installed on mine

If you've got 220hp available the Volvo is going DOWN!

The only thing you will have to manage is traction. The S60 can basically floor it and get very little wheelspin. You will have to be judicious off the line. I suggest you practice - it's all in the launch!

His an auto too but I'm sure we will do it from a roll. But from a dig or roll I think I shouldn't have a problem. I will have him by more than 40whp and 600lbs lighter. I'm run stage ll (92 octane).

This is hilarious. Volvo S60 with a straight pipe? How terrifying!!

It's not an R and has an open exhaust as it's only mod, and is clearly FWD based on the claimed curb weight? I wouldn't lose a wink of sleep over it.

Where are you getting a 220whp estimate based on those mods? Sounds highly optimistic, but it would be highly entertaining in a Mini!

So the guy brought his prelude instead of of the s60. He said his prelude beat his s60 by 4 car lengths.
Prelude has the h22 every bolt on. Tuned on hondata.. The works.
Well long story short
From a 40 roll. Beat him by 2 lengths to 80 and pulling.
60 beat him by 3 lengths to 100 and pulling
From a 30 gave him a length and the jump. Pulled him by 4 to 140. It was awful and embrassing He drove an hour for that as whipping.

Isn't "racing" a Mini and a Prelude in a straight line kind of missing the point of these cars?

who cares he's just having fun, always cool to see a MiNI win a drag race when it's not made for the straights.

Take your friend to the race track & race him around a corner. Going fast through corners is where the fun is.

If it was a drag race he would've gotten timing slips.

Keep street racing in the movies.

Straight line was his only chance of winning. He knew from a dig or going around a track he would not have a chance. A win is a win

Why wouldn't he have a chance going around the track? I didn't see a win here. There was no sanctioning body to declare the win.

Sanctioning body? Are u serious. I put lengths on him. I won. As for going around a track. I would win that too. My car handles like its on rails with all the suspension upgraded.

It was on public streets, therefore it wasn't a race. Handling on rails is only one of the variables for winning on the track.

Sorry for being a party pooper, but I had someone special in life almost killed by a street racer.

In the sportbike world we call you a squid.
I'd love for a ban on idiots like you who street race.

Absolutely. Anyone can go fast in a straight line - all they have to do is spend enough money on the car.
