So far the best CAI I've found for the R56S

It's a bit pricey... BUT, you get an actual cold air intake as opposed to most on the market which just draw hot air from the top of the engine.. I know there is one out there that is also a true cold air intake but it utilizes the hood scoop and you have to worry about sucking in water when it's raining. This is one BA CAI. Thought I'd share  https://c1552172.ssl.cf0.rackcdn.com/629335_x800.jpg |
It's a carbon fiber JCW intake =\
it sure does look pretty though |

We sell intakes, but honestly they are not the HP producers that manufactures claim. I would always put my money toward an intercooler first as that is much better bang for the buck.
If you do want an intake either go with a really cheap one, or the JCW. I personally use the JCW intake on my cars. |

I do like the JCW as well but I, like you, don't think they make THAT much of an improvement. I posted this just because all of the "CAI's" out there are hot air intakes. They can put arrows showing potential air flow from the scoop all they want, at the end of the day it's still just sucking in hot air off the top of the engine, this one pulls it from the factory fresh air tube like the JCW. I put in a high flow panel filter and she does just fine. I will be going with a hot side silicone tube and intercooler. |
