R56 JCW AERO Packages are RIDICULOUSLY cheap right now.
Only thing to note is compared to the S panels, if you look at the ECS Tuning photos of the JCW kit, there are long black piece that is positioned infront of the side skirts, just look at it closely, these fit underneath the MINI to allow for proper mounting of the JCW side skirts. Trust me, you'll figure it out. I never had instructions when I installed my kit and I was able to figure it out.

Bummer. I tried to order the kit from ECS for my R56 S on the 21st. Next day, got an e-mail saying it was NLA. I asked because it was still online if it was available for backorder or something but response was again that it was NLA. They offered to put together a kit from me but said it would be about $1k. Meanwhile the $599.95 was already out of my bank account, so had to ask for my order to be cancelled and refunded. At least it all happened over the course of a day or two, unlike a lot of other people's experiences! Still, not sure why it was online for so long (especially because on the 22nd I pointed out that it was still online, though was already told it was NLA); definitely got my hopes up that I would be able to get one for that price!
I'd like to thank you for straighten out my free shipping credit. This has got to be the best deal I've ever caught in time of any mod for the Mini.
Delivery of the JCW areo kit is expected on monday. The Clubby just got some more warranty work done and is running like a top.
This kit will surely be a nice surprise for the wifey just in time for Valentines Day!

Dealer called yesterday to let me know I'm not getting mine. Something doesn't seem right, they made me wait a few days to make sure it was available and correct for my car before ordering. Then over a week later they call and say now they can't get it.

They were for the Gen2 MINI R56, R57 Cooper/ Cooper S/JCW certain years. And the R55 Clubman / Clubman S/ JCW certain years. Select Clubman kits left. Everything else is gone. We have the Clubman ones.
None for the Gen 1 R53 guys , sorry.

I got my kit from the dealer yesterday. The pallet barely fit in my truck! The BMW parts-counter guys were jaw-dropped at what came with the kit! Best $350 I have spent in a while!
Now I have to figure out where to store this stuff while I wait on the weather to warm up.
Now I have to figure out where to store this stuff while I wait on the weather to warm up.
You guys are killing me with your success stories!
I've been dying to get this kit since i got my R56 and of course I somehow missed my chance to get one at such an awesome price. I ordered one as soon as I saw this thread, had to wait a few days for the dealer to finally figure out they were out of stock. Then I was sold an in-stock kit that the dealer had lying around for a while for $650 in compromise. 5 days or so after it was supposed to have been delivered to my house, they call me to tell me the kit they have is cracked and they won't sell it to me. I was then told that to make up for my troubles, the parts manager would order me a brand new kit for the $650 I had already paid them. Of this I was skeptical because I am well aware that the current form of the kit is not sold under a single sku, but excited at the thought that I might end up with a brand new kit for $650 (which would certainly benefit me, being that I have a 2013 and fitting the older kit was going to be iffy). After going over what parts I need with the guy I'd been working with this whole time, he says he'll email me the parts list and details when he gets it all sorted out. Lo and behold the next day I get a list of the parts needed in addition to the base kit (which only includes the skirts and various plastic bumper bits) and a "rock bottom price quote" as well. They end up offering me the base kit for the $650, and "below employee pricing" on the rest for only an additional $1000! (I promptly priced the parts out from both ECS and BMWPartsStore and wouldn't you know it, they are both significantly cheaper - $925 and $820 respectively). Now I know $1650 is still a decent price on a JCW Aero Kit, but unfortunately not a good time financially for me to handle it. This is in fact why I was so adamant they find a way to get me one of these discontinued kits to begin with. I expressed my unhappiness with this offer to the parts guy, starting with the obvious suggestion not to take a customer's payment on parts you haven't actually looked at. But my biggest issue is that in the 2.5 week process that this whole thing turned out to be, I passed up several opportunities to buy the kit elsewhere, while it was still in stock (ECS still had a non-blackband Cooper kit in stock for $599, which of course was gone by the time I got my final "offer"). A few days later, after initially giving me the whole "these prices are lower than even employees get" B.S., I got an apology and was told that they put in a request for assistance from Mini USA, to see if there was anything the higher-ups could do to salvage my experience. I was told it might take a while for Mini USA to return their call, and I'd get an update when they hear something. That was about a week ago now... My $650 is still with the dealer who was happy to accept it on January 27th, but would appear a bit reluctant to return it to my bank account.
p.s. a last ditch effort ordering the kit (which is still listed for sale for $250) from Pelican ended in a cancelled order about 5 days later when they realized the kit was NLA.
p.s.s. I too was told that they actually DO have a few of the kits left in Germany (part no. 51192154645), but that they were not releasing them outside of Germany. My guess is they figure why spend the money shipping them over here when clearly they will have no trouble getting rid of them.
p.s.s.s if there's one thing I learned from this, it's that no matter how firm an understanding of the parts diagrams and manufacturing-split-dates and required part numbers you may have as a customer, it will still take DAYS for the parts guys to get your order sorted out because they have very little knowledge of what is included in the kits and what the differences between kit revisions are. You can try all you want to assure them you know exactly what you are ordering, but they will still insist on "confirming" that they are ordering the right parts.

I too am drooling at those who have successfully got this deal of the century. I lost out twice and too dreamed of getting this kit as well. I take comfort in the fact we are all getting the same story. I wish well to those who have been lucky and I don't think I have felt that disappointed over something like that since I was around 7 years old.
Some R55 Clubman kits are left in limited amounts . That's about it.

*update
As it turns out, my MINI parts guy came through and was able to get MINI NA to good will me one of the blackband kits that were being held in Germany. He said it was actually an error on MINI's behalf, and the price was never actually meant to dip so low to begin with, which is why they were blocking exports from Germany. I received my giant shipping crate today, along with a box consisting of the conversion kit for LCI models. In total, I paid about $615 since the conversion kit is an additional $250 expense, and after another $1000 for paint, I'll still be coming out on top, assuming the front bumper does in fact work with my 2013 LCI. I'm still not sold on the blackband look, but I figure I can always plastidip or vinyl wrap the parts if I don't like the look. One big disappointment for me is that the JCW Aero kit II's don't include the brake air ducts for non-S models, and I really think the ducts add a lot to the look of the front. I haven't been able to find any conclusive info yet as to whether I can add the retrofit brake duct kit that is commonly sold. As per usual, every vendor lists something different in terms of application availability for the 2013 model base Cooper. Who would have though that having the very last, most polished version of the model would mean LESS aftermarket support. My guess is that the brake ducts will work and that it was simply a way for MINI to differentiate between base models and S's while cutting some costs. Since they are standard on ALL of the revised LCI kits, I have to imagine I can make it work.

Post up some pics when you get it installed, before and after would be awesome.
