2007 hatchback mini cooper s brake pads

Hi I have a 2007 mini cooper s turbo hatchback. I'm looking to purchase brake pads on rock auto and keep seeing pads for a convertible but none for the hatchback. Are the pads the same for the hatchback as they are for the convertible. Also are there different years that have the same pads as the 2007 s?

a 2007 hatch aka hard top is considered a GEN2

the rag top did not change from GEN1 to GEN2 for a couple of years

so YES a 2007 hard vs soft top uses different pads (most of the time . . .)

Take a look at the Tire Rack website. They have a chart with their brake pads, showing which models each set fits.

EBC red stuff pads, call it a day. Well worth the effort and cost. Do not cheap out on brakes.

I would either talk to a specialty supporter if they have a reasonably priced stock style pad(If you don't want to spend the money to upgrade), as they will be much easier to get the right part from. Rock Auto is amazing, but some parts (ball joints on transition year vehicles, brake pads on multi-trim-level vehicles, etc) are a crap shoot if you get the right one ordered. I'd talk to someone like Way, Pelican, or my personal favorite ECS tuning. Otherwise a local parts store will be a good option as well.

zack36089 - Watch the chassis cross over , most sites have the Gen 1 MINI and Gen 2 MINI sharing the same parts in 2007 and 2008. Which is not correct.

Here is the Gen 2 R56 MINI Cooper S ( turbo) 2007: Watch for the JCW brake kits or JCW brakes also. They are the red 4 position brakes up front. Stocks are single piston silver calipers.
