R56 Is a justa w/auto trans too slow/odd?
I drive a A4 with a stick most of the time, but I was ok with our Justa with an auto trans. The Justa did sometimes seem to hunt for the right gear, but I guess that is to be expected in a 1.6 liter without turbo. I don't think it was the auto trans that was the issue.
I think that it is the throttle delay that is bothersome to most people. Both my wife and my daughter constantly complained about the delay in the Justa. However, I never found either the throttle delay or the automatic trans to be objectionable. I guess that you do get used to it. Or, it may be that I tended to use Sport mode a little bit more than either my wife or daughter.
We just replaced our wrecked Justa with a MCS with an auto. I went to the MCS because I was tired of hearing the complaints about the throttle delay (also the sports seats on the MCS are a lot more supportive that the base seats).
The MCS still has some throttle delay, but the turbo quickly makes you forget there was any delay. The MCS also does not do as must hunting for the right gear as the Justa auto trans did.
I have not had a chance to get on a back road to see what the MCS can really do. However, so far, I actually like the handling of the Justa a little better. The Justa seemed to be more agile and lighter in the front-end. If I had to do it again, I would probably order a Justa with the Sports Seats and a few other desired options that I could not find on the dealer's lot. :-)

thanks for the thoughtful replies guys, I'm definitely noticing that way I drive the auto makes a difference. Now with a whopping 200 miles on the car, when I need power for highway onramps, I've been putting it in sport. Don't always have to, but if there is a lot of traffic or I need to move quickly, it negates the issue I was having earlier. The hunting isn't really bad unless I give it more throttle and even then, starting to get used to it. Actually really liking the car so far, rides nice and seems a little tighter than the '11 which I'm sure is mainly due to the newness. But the ride is softer without the runflats
