This will be my commuter car, but had to have something fun otherwise I wouldn't use it. Toyed with a Fiat Abarth, but there was something that didn't sit well with me...not sure what. Anyway, will post pics sometime in November hopefully!
Congrats on the new MINI. You will enjoy having a unique model of a unique brand.

I had 2 mini owners come up to me today asking about my Bayswater edition. They really liked the bonnet strips and colored mirrors

With the old mini non mini owners wanted to talk about it.

Spied two Bayswater's at the dealer today while getting some work done. Got to see the interior up close and personal. Very nice punched leather sport seats with blue stitching, paino black and black headliner.

Sweet inside and out!

Tokyosmash! My BW has the kite blue roof also. Was that how you ordered yours or did it just come with the blue roof and no stripes? Are you going to have stripes put on or leave him/her au natural?

Tab, they aren't factory-applied perfect, but they are a million times better than before. The bottom ones were missing like 1cm of length on each. I'll have to get Monty washed/waxed up and take some glamour shots

Hi. Just got my wife the Bayswater edition last night. Complete surprise to her!!! Had it shipped from Reno, NV to Monrovia, CA. Gotta a few questions.

1) Drove it this morning for the first time and noticed that the ceiling and inside pillars were a Tan color. Is black an option?

2) Its possible to still order a Bayswater Edition?? Just curious.

3) How many 2012 Baywater Edition cars are going to be produced in 2012? (since its a "special edition")

I have more questions but these will do for now. Thanks.

UCLAman, here are my thoughts

1) When I ordered my BW back in May, the Anthracite headliner was an extra $250 option.

2) I'm not seeing the BW package on miniusa.com anymore so my guess is that it's not possible to still order one...

3) Based on what I see for #2, yay to those of us who were lucky enough to get one before it was removed from the site! I was told that "special edition" meant that Mini would build as many as people wanted to order during the duration Mini wanted to run the package. Unlike "limited edition" cars, where there would only be a specific number built (and usually each car was given a build# out of total built#, most often found placed on a small placard somewhere on the car).

After mentioning to my fiance that the BW package is now no longer on the site, he pulls up miniusa.com and there it is. Apparently my browser hadn't loaded the page fully before.

Yes anthracite headliner is a $250 option. I thought about it, but without the sunroof I thought it would make it feel a bit too dark. The tan color roof and pillars are pretty standard BMW fare.

I don't know how many they have planned to sell, would be interesting to know. I know they sell them in at least the UK, Australia and Canada as well as in the US. That said, I have never seen one in person yet. If the information on GTCarlot.com can be believed, and if I interpreted it correctly, less than 1% of 2012 Mini's were Bayswater's (I'm assuming this is is in the US)

My wife's car was purchased basically without having EVER seen one (Bayswater) in person. Just looked at them on the MINI USA website. WHY would anyone get that option!!! I cant understand why MINI would even offer this headliner option on this car!!! NO WHERE on the car is this color even seen! Had it been a black ceiling and black pillars etc, this car would be bad *** from the interior. Just MHO!!! It sticks out like a sore thumb!!! Just glad its not my car!! My wife is ok with it at least.

Done with my rant.

Agreed! I thought the black headliner was part of the package... Both of the BW's I spied had the black healiner, but I didn't look at the sticker details to see if it was an option.

What they should had offered as an option was a BLACK suede headliner and wrapped the pillars in the suede!!!!! That would have been the way to go!!!

THATS what BMW does on the 7 series. I would know I used to have one!!

Damn! Is that a runflat tire that "cracked" when you hit the pot hole? Must have been a moon sized crater to do all that damage.

Here in SoCal you'd be asking to be reimbursed by the city/county for not filling a dangerous pot hole like that!

Similar in CT....however, the DOT have to be notified about the hole FIRST...and then if they haven't fixed within a certain time they are liable. I hit a pot hole on I84 and burst a tire. Three other cars had done the same.

Towed back to Porsche, they couldn't get Contintental tire to match and ended up having to replace all 4. Cost me over a $1000. Got tire insurance on the new one after that.
