Just placed my order for a new one on ECS Tuning. I have the knock pretty bad every time I drive so hopefully this reduces it a bit. At the least I've invested in preventative maintenance.

Can you video record the noise from startup and post it?

Yeah, I'll try and get around to that today, maybe tomorrow. I'll record the knock before and after the new pump is installed to see if there is any difference.

Can someone direct me to a "How-To" for the pump install?

We have a Vacuum Pump Replacement article on our site that should be very useful to you. Here: http://www.pelicanparts.com/Mini/index-SC.htm click on "Tech Info" tab at the top and then select the R56 articles, scroll to engine and then it's the 4th one down. The article also has some very good info about the pump.

OH OH....Pelican just entered into ECS territory.

Mr. ECS care to make a post, even an irrelevant post so as to "mark your territory"?

Big thanks to Pelican Parts for this, I printed everything out and read it over a few times, I think I can knock this out in no time. Really appreciate the help.

Has anyone else done this? Any pics of what you did to complete it?
