How do the Mini Yours Tattoo's Look in Real Life?

Since the midnight black MINI hardtop that I'm interested in is a too little plain or monochromatic just by itself. I was thinking about adding one of the MINI Yours Tattoos - Glorious. But after a search of the forum - the one real life example (found below) didn't look as appealing as what you see on the MINI configurator. Are there better examples - or is this pretty much what I should expect?

Alternatively, I'm thinking that just the narrowly spaced white sport (hood) stripes might be the better approach

If that's the exact decal you're referring to, they look very cheap in person. I personally don't think they're flattering at all. I have a photo here somewhere of one... if I can find it, I'll edit this with it. :)

Edit: found it.

Thanks. I agree - the 'real thing' looks pretty bad.

Just found out that the dealer can add red sport stripes and red mirror caps to a Midnight Black base 'justa' HT - similar to the stripes on the coupe below. Anyone have something similar done and of course, have a photo? Or alternatively have any opinions on this combo.

if your going for stripes, i'd have them painted by a body shop. I never cared for putting stickers or vinyl on the car like this, ...painted looks better and will last as long as your paint. I've heard of the vinyl stickers not aging well from sun and other road debris damage.

Benefit of vinyl, however, is easy reapplication if you want to change. Also, our cars are rock chip magnets. Vinyl resists chipping and if it does damage from sun or debris, can be reapplied easily.

True, you can remove vinyl.

clear bra over painted stripes is great for rock chips. I've had a clear bra on my car for 4 years and love it, not a single rock chip. -you can't even see the bra on my car either.
